In the midst of dancing & dressing like my miracle for this Hallelujah Challenge 19th Oct, i saw a congratulatory mail, sent late last night from a program i had given up on!
Past Nath declared it and i received it!
This God is too good! 😫🙌🏾

And to all who have lost a loved one due to pregnancy & it's complications.
You've been seeing all these takes on the TL and you're thinking about your wife, sister, mother, friend, aunt who lost their life while trying to bring life,I pray God comforts you all over again 🫂
I survived pregnancy, it was not a death sentence for me because i survived.I am alive, here.
Many other women didn't survive. They died either during the pregnancy, delivery or post-partum, it was a death sentence for them.
If you cannot understand this simple statement...sorry🙏🏾
Same goes for any medical condition. A patient’s personal perspective and experience with a medical condition cannot be overlooked or ignored based on your clinical knowledge and experience of managing said condition over the years.

I appreciate your insights, Nash, but I think you’re getting some things wrong.
Firstly, I did not mean that maternal mortality is 50/50. I said so to reiterate the fact that a seemingly healthy pregnancy can take a turn for the worse during labour, which is very true.
The fact that pregnancy is a natural process does not take away from the nuances of the situation or the reality that things can go wrong, making it life-threatening and even life-altering.
Your assertion that maternal mortality has little to do with pregnancy itself is not entirely true. There are life-threatening complications that can arise specifically during pregnancy, such as pre-eclampsia, eclampsia and pregnancy-related cardiac complications. Pre-existing health conditions are not the only risk factors because an otherwise healthy woman can develop these complications during pregnancy.
Your argument also creates an unfair impression that women are responsible for the complications they develop during pregnancy. While we can all agree that there are unsafe practices during pregnancy, we cannot place the burden of responsibility on women alone without acknowledging that pregnancy comes with its own complications.
You’re also overlooking the difference between emergency obstetric care and antenatal care. Attending all ANC appointments has never been a guarantee that a pregnancy or delivery will be free of complications. For example, postpartum haemorrhage can occur even in women who have adhered to every medical recommendation.
I am NOT in any way trying to instil fear in women. I simply discussed what I was taught with another healthcare provider. Besides, these are things we teach women during ANC. Our aim is to equip women with sufficient knowledge about pregnancy so they can make informed decisions and have access to quality healthcare.
It is not 50/50 Maya .. The disparity between successful births and the complicated ones with extremes as death .. is so so so wide ..
Pregnancy is a natural process of procreation that has existed from the beginning of creation..
The complications associated with pregnancy have a lot to do with pre existing health issues, lack of proper healthcare services and properly trained medical personnels to ensure safe deliveries, Neglect of safe practices on the part of the pregnant woman or her immediate surroundings during pregnancy, late conception, Lack of knowledge amongst other things.. And little to do with the Pregnancy itself..
I know it’s trendy to side with women nowadays, as people fear the stupid misogyny tag .. but let’s separate the facts from emotions and trends ..
All you people are doing with this thing is, instilling fear in the hearts of women, as opposed to teaching them the safety processes and overall importance of healthy living prior, during and post pregnancy.. Let’s do better please
Those statistics are very sweet to quote until when it happens to you/ yours.
When you, your wife, mother or sister becomes that 1% then it will no longer just be 1%.
When you ask why should every woman give birth ok and mine dies and you have no answer, you'll understand better

Come to think of it, all these takes are just because some people have lost touch with figures of speech. That is why conversations get so tiring and bland, then people start throwing hands.
“I’m willing to die on this hill” no mean say I wan die.
“Pregnancy is a death sentence” no mean say you’ve been sentenced and you’ll die.
I mean, you might get amnesty 😅 (that is to say, if you’re lucky enough not to have complications, you won’t lose your life and you’ll come out alive). Personally, if I hear that, I’ll take it to be a light joke to mean, it is very, very risky and I might lose my life. It doesn’t mean, I will lose my life. It just further explains the pain people go through, and if a woman says that she felt that way, I can only imagine how childbirth must have been for her. The labor, the lifestyle adjustment, the appetite, every single thing she experienced. I will not invalidate her experience.
Again, if people weren’t having bland conversations and building agendas. You’d see clearly that it was a hyperbole and y’all wouldn’t have had to dissect it and through hands.
You see this ,"pregnancy is a death sentence" convo, If you haven't seen a woman who has always been healthy, had a healthy pregnancy, and still dies during labor, delivery or post partum, then you won't understand the depth of this discourse.
May God sustain all pregnant women
I just thank God say at the end of the day, the day go end because what?!
😭😭😭
I just like how she is taking all the comments with humour 😂

My own don correct for this topic,on to the next. We continue with our jealousy in the background😭
In all this discourse,my advantage is i know who to go to with my problems🙌🏾.
When i need good medical care, i know which GP, which specialist will give me/mine the best chance, forget all these online things .
If you like take your medical care for arts students,na your trouble.
Better just continue di collect your 'suivres des dossiers' for that Canada line because ehn🤣🤣🤣
Say it's possible to switch careers from Arts background into Medical school.
What a Wawu🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I like as all una di agree say ANYBODY with ANY educational background fit do health sciences.
Make i catch una drag some nurse or doctor for this TL again.
I will not hold my tongue.
The year i got into med school, there was a guy whose name was not on the initial list, not even the waiting list. Few days later, another list came out with his name on it. The day of inscription, they didn't see his name, he informed the admins of an updated list.
Una di joke🤣
So Dr. Indira Baboke studied arts(A1) and was able to get into med school? In 2017 when she wrote A levels, she actually failed and was preparing for repeat the following year. Two weeks later, there was a “miracle”. The GCE board wrote to her, claiming that they made a mistake and she actually passed with exceptional grades. One month after all this drama, she was able to get into med school while still being a musician. She might either be Einstein or Gods chosen one🙌🏼
Is there any of us who haven't broken a school rule?!
Is there any of us who have been where we know fully well we weren't supposed to be?!
Were we all flawless students?
Should we all be paid by assault, harassment and even death?!
To think some of you are parents. Shame!
No, you are in an era where these kids know people like you will never speak up for them so they are speaking up for themselves, unfortunately, through violence and retaliation.
There is a bigger problem at hand, stop blaming the victims!
Or na because no be na your pikin be die?!
