In the early 1980s, when a very famous and critically acclaimed Hindi film actor watched Purush (the Marathi play that turned Nana Patekar into the talk of the town) he went up to Patekar and asked him "How do you do it, Nana? How?"
Patekar would light up the stage with his matchless passion and intensity every single night. When Ankush arrived in 1986, the whole country witnessed what only patrons of Marathi theatre had experienced until then. It would be an understatement to call Patekar's performance electric. There was a certain authenticity to his intensity which amplified its impact, even on screen, away from the stage.
His intensity felt authentic because it was inherent, a part of him, a part of everything he did. When he made his directorial debut with Prahaar (1991), he carried over that intensity, deciding to actually train for three years with the Maratha Light Infantry before playing an Army Major in the film.
His body of work, spanning five decades, cements his legacy as one of our finest actors but his philanthropy, particularly over the last decade and a half needs to be appreciated as well. For more than a decade now, he was essentially pledging almost all of his earnings to farmers' relief in some shape or form.
Goodbye, Nana Kaka. Thank you for the movies and thank you for consistently helping our farmers. Godspeed.
An actor who rarely let the viewer down, #NanaPatekar neither followed a template nor created one, and what he leaves behind is a body of work that will remain unmatched.
My tribute to the thespian who left us today.

Nana Patekar did serious things throughout his life without ever taking himself too seriously, and much like Armstrong, who returned from the moon and spent the rest of his days declining to become a monument, Nana simply went home to his small flat in Andheri.

Those outraged that PM Modi reached out to youngsters who had even abused him, and his mother, are missing the larger picture.
Leadership isn’t about nursing grudges; it’s about reclaiming a generation.
A civilization doesn’t survive by abandoning its confused youth. It survives by guiding them back before anger hardens into permanent division.
If we lose the next generation, no political victory will matter. Dharma calls us to transform, not merely to condemn.

The Union Cabinet chaired by PM Shri @narendramodi has approved Semicon 2.0 with a ₹1,27,500 crore outlay. It is a landmark decision that reaffirms India's long-term commitment to building a globally competitive semiconductor ecosystem.
This transformative initiative will strengthen chip design, advanced manufacturing, R&D, talent development and the entire semiconductor value chain, creating high-value jobs, enhancing technological self-reliance, strengthening strategic resilience and positioning India as a trusted global semiconductor hub.
My gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for this decision and his unwavering commitment to making India a global technology powerhouse.
From ambition to capability, from capability to scale, Semicon 2.0 is more than its ₹1.275 lakh crore budget. It's about reinforcing the long-term objective of technological self-reliance.
Semicon India 1.0 was about establishing India’s presence in semiconductor manufacturing.
Semicon 2.0 is about deepening that ecosystem.
