'...nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine...'
How did that go?
On this day 109 years ago today British foreign secretary Arthur Balfour sent a letter to Lord Rothschild, a leading member of the UK's Jewish community, expressing the British government's support for the establishment of a Jewish national homeland in Israel.
It laid the foundation for the eventual end of the British Mandate of Palestine and the establishment of the State of Israel.
This article from the declaration's centenary explains how the Labour party already supported its aims months before it was written:

I am Jewish
Listen to this man BELOW. He leads a very powerful Israel Lobby group in the US
The idea that "God promised us Jews the land of Israel thousands of years ago", including the right to drive out those already living there and persecute them and kill them, is ABSOLUTE NONSENSE

Canโt we put Hancock in the dock & ask him how known, reputable PPE suppliers were passed over for his mate who owned a pub. Gove could tell us what experience Michelle Mone had in the industry.
A TOY company and two GIN distillers amongst companies referred for providing Covid PPE via the "VIP" lane...
No wonder the Tory govt didn't want to release this information!

People don't seem to understand that if police didn't act, we'd have 4,000 of these terrorist grannies out there, not hurting anyone at all. It doesn't bear thinking about.

May those who live, work or holiday on top of this have nightmares about what lies beneath them. May they imagine the cries of the dying and may it keep them awake at night.

Always remember the govt. initially denied the existence of a VIP lane before shifting to bragging about it when caught out.
I lack the necessary spleen for hating people but if I had it, I would hate Gove.
Have we any comment from @michaelgove who now sits on talk shows, edits The Spectator, and is in the HoL?
He set up and oversaw the VIP lane
Good experienced British PPE producers could not get near and sold abroad
Much of the VIP lane PPE had to be stored and destroyed at cost

How many people is it OK to keep in tents for months and months? Compare the amount of money being spent on arms versus the amount it would cost to house the people here?

The latest footage from Gaza.
It wasn't just Israel who did this.
The West did this.
We will never scrub the shame away.

This seems like a great time to reshare my favourite Sir Patrick Stewart performance, โWhat has the ECHR ever done for us?โ Itโs just perfect in every possible way โฆ including the ending ๐๐๐ RIP.

Watching building of the Titianic prog on @Channel4 & is the continual, booming music really necessary? Doesnโt even cease when contributors are speaking. So distractingโฆ.

Yesterday, I was barred from entering the West Bank by Israeli officials, as part of a @ProgIntl delegation.
What's happening here in Palestine is unjust. We've just witnessed what Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and many others have called a genocide unfold in Gaza.
We came here to show the world, and to show solidarity with the Palestinian people. The Israeli government didn't allow that.

While thousands of elderly people died unnecessarily in old folks homes, Matt Hancock was dishing out multi-ยฃMillion taxpayer funded contracts to...
โก๏ธhis pub landlord mate,
โก๏ธhis horsey friend,
โก๏ธhis sister's company

Why isn't he in the jail?

Following the Covid Inquiry's damning verdict on @MattHancock, we've launched a petition to remove him from the Privy Council.
His actions led to thousands of avoidable deaths.
This is a first symbolic step towards accountability.

Matt Hancock is trending.
Do you remember him crying on TV... like a stepdad appealing for the return of the daughter he knows is under the garage floor.

I donโt how it came out nor how reliably, but didnโt Johnson dismiss concerns about care home residents because they were in their 80s & would die soon anyway?
The other โbig call he got rightโ was to take Covid โon the chinโ. Just let it sweep through resulting in herd immunity & a golden economic opportunity.
It was only when Cummings dinned it into his privileged, stupid head that the NHS was going to fall over that the Covid regs. were rushed through on 23 Mar 2020, the day Cummings fled north.
No one has gone to jail.
During the Covid-19 Inquiry a civil servant described the number of COVID-related deaths of elderly people as โโa generational slaughter within care homes.โโ This is a terrible indictment of Boris Johnson, Matt Hancock, Helen Whately and everyone who allowed it to happen.
