Grandma wrote a 3,000 page love letter over 19 years to MLB ⚾️. Please visit grandmasscorebook.com to see my love letter back to her. I hope you bookmark this site and visit often.
You can see how it started in 1973 on a single envelope and how it ended in 1991. #MinnieLeesays
So sorry to hear this Ryan.
My family is forever grateful to you for taking a sincere genuine interest in, and telling our beloved Minnie Lee’s story. You gave this account life and inspired the creation to grandma’s tribute website, grandmasscorebook.com.
Sincerely, thank you

“⭐️Lawless!!”
Grandma was consistent with showing her sincere excitement for Lawless’ home runs.
4/25/84 he was her ⭐️ of the game for hitting his 1st career home run in T2.
And then his epic bat flip in Game 4 of the 1987 World Series.
She was loyal to all her former Reds.

This is one of my favorite things about BB, we all shared the love for the game! Thank you.🙏❤️
Today is one of my favorite MLB debut anniversaries each year, 6/29/88. @robdibble49 throws two very impressive 3⬆️ & 3⬇️ innings at Riverfront against the Padres & future HOF Tony Gwynn.
Grandma’s hearing wasn’t great, “Ron”She most definitely loved Rob’s passion & intensity.😇

I just received the most well thought out and meaningful Father's Day gifts ever. Left me speechless.
For reference, see the quoted tweet, the attached screenshot from my blog, or listen to the prologue from my podcast.
@PointerJen , thank you so much!
In 1981 a 7 year old me walked to this neighborhood corner grocery (Vaught's Grocery) and bought a pack of 1981 Topps (probably bought some big league chew and a grape soda as well), and a lifelong love of #thehobby began. I drove by there this summer & took this. Good memories.

I wish I’d watched games with Grandma.
#OTD Tom Terrific aka The Franchise throws his only career no-hitter. You can feel grandma’s sincere and genuine excitement about this moment. The more excited she was the larger she wrote.

really enjoyed this one. give it a listen!
we talked about all the best parts of baseball card collecting and the hobby (spoiler: the people, not the cards), and spent time discussing two of my favorite stories ever, @GScorebook and @Canscanministry.
What a great conversation w/ The Sporting News baseball writer @ryanfagan. His love of the game of baseball & of collecting cards, combined w/ his ability to tell a story, made this a true joy!

Thanks Ryan!
Ken Griffey was her guy for sure. Here are her game notes from his MLB debut (8/25/73), the day he was traded from Atlanta and coming back to her Reds (8/2/88), & his last game in Cincinnati (8/18/90) before going to Seattle to play with his son. You can feel her ❤️

I recorded next week's "People Over Cards" with @myjunkwax last night.
I just now listened back...Wow!
He is so good!
I cannot wait until it's published Monday morning.
If you don't follow him, you're twittering wrong, but you definitely will want to after hearing him talk.
This date, 1973: I had 3 HRs and 7 RBI against Steve Carlton and @Phillies. 2nd time I got Lefty for three, and tied a major-league record with four consecutive HRs, having hit one in my last AB the night before. Davey's 2-run HR in the 9th gave @Reds the win, 9-7.

5/25/79 Dodgers beat Reds 17-6 at Dodger Stadium. @Sut_40 hits his 1st MLB home run off Tom Terrific in B2! What a thrill that had to be.
Grandma’s notes say there was “some rhubarb” in the 8th. She loved the fights!

This week we talked about power hitting @Reds 1B…Nick Esasky! Nick was traded to @RedSox and in 1989 hit 30 homers earning a big contract with @braves. Unfortunately, he played only 9 more games in MLB due to a struggle with vertigo.

Billy Hatcher went 7 for 7 in Games 1 & 2 in the 1990 World Series.
4 doubles, 1 triple, 5 runs, 2 RBI, 2 BB
He unfortunately was HBP on his wrist in top of the 1st in Game 4 and was replaced by Herm Winningham.
Grandma hoped, “Davis and Hatcher are not hurt seriously.”
