Today, I joined several state leaders in breaking ground on an interactive visitor center at Vicksburg National Military Park. Over the past year, Mississippi’s congressional delegation worked together to pass a law that gave the state and its private partners new tools to bring the story of Vicksburg to life. This center will help Mississippi remember, relive, and learn from the past.

Today was all about history. First we went to the Arlington Mansion in Natchez which was built in 1816 and has been abanoned for a long time. Afterwards we drove to Vicksburg and did the 16-mile tour through the site of the 1863 Civil war battle. There was also the USS Cairo, which sank in the river during the battle.
It was crazy hot out there, but definitely worth it!

Everyone is talking about Kamario Taylor — his brilliant play but also his future. I went to Mississippi State where there’s confidence in the relationship *and* the finances.

Every generation has a solemn responsibility to preserve our nation’s history for the ones that follow. The Senate is helping fulfill that duty, unanimously approving our legislation to enhance the experience of visiting Vicksburg National Military Park. This legislation will support Mississippi’s efforts to keep the story of Vicksburg alive and accessible for students, families, and visitors.

President Trump appointed Adam Telle, the current assistant secretary of the Army for Civil Works, to be the acting Army secretary following Dan Driscoll's resignation.
The president posted the announcement on Truth Social Thursday evening and wrote that Telle would assume his new role "effective immediately" and called him "a Great Patriot, who is respected by all."

Congratulations to Adam Telle. The president made an excellent choice in appointing him to serve as Acting Secretary of the Army. Adam has been a fantastic partner as Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works. I am confident he will succeed in leading America’s Army. Our country faces unprecedented threats from the Axis of the Aggressors, and the Army is crucial to maintaining deterrence. I look forward to working with Adam to ensure our soldiers have everything they need to execute their mission.

Suggestion: all states should require that tax payments by "Data Centers" will go to reducing property taxes at the local level and income taxes at the state level.
Nothing for higher government spending.

.@SenatorWicker is right: the Jones Act is a national security mandate.
The Jones Act sustains the mariners, shipyards, and industrial capacity our military relies on.
That's why President Trump must lift the broad waiver and put American workers, American shipyards, and American strength FIRST.

1. Basically every developed economy has cabotage laws. Including China.
2. If you strike the Jones Act then America’s commercial maritime industry dies essentially overnight.
3. Foreign vessels will take their place and the USA will not have a commercial maritime industry.

If the Jones Act goes away, U.S. maritime collapses:
🌍 Foreign flags flood domestic routes
🏚️ Shipyards go dark
👷♀️ Jobs disappear
🔗 Supply chains outsourced
🛡️ National security undercut
Stop the waiver. @WhiteHouse @realDonaldTrump @JDVance
