I don’t want to get pulled into the trans issue and talk about it, because it’s such an extraordinary minefield.” He went on to mention some of Rowling’s good works. "She has her view, and I have mine," Isaacs continued. "They differ on many levels. But one thing people should also know about her, and I'm not saying it as a counter-argument, is that through her charity Lumos she has given a huge part of her fortune to making the world better for hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children. And that is unquestionably a good thing. Many of us Harry Potter actors have worked with it and seen the work she does up close." What Isaacs did is truly admirable: he refused to hand the press yet another juicy story about a former franchise actor publicly discrediting J.K. Rowling. Instead, he did something rare in today's bloodthirsty clickbait world. He pointed out the good in a person, accepted that they disagree, and moved on. Nicely done!
