So Trump is about to attack the Houthis heh? Um.. the thing is if you attack the Houthis, you have a problem. If you don't attack them you have a problem. It's an interesting dilemma. Unfortunately the Trump admin doesn't have the facilities to win these fun games.

The world’s wrongest man, John Mearsheimer, says he was effectively penniless during his recent visit to Russia because the “Russia expert” didn’t know his US credit card wouldn’t work there. Mearsheimer was in Russia to lecture Russians about Russia, leaving local audiences confused by pro-Russia talking points that he seems unaware are only meant for Western consumption.

"AI agents are inherently dangerous" That's like saying dogs are inherently dangerous. you sound dumb.
100% this —> AI agents are inherently dangerous. We shouldn’t have them. We should nationalize the AI labs, decommercialize it, and use AI exclusively for scientific research.

"we have to slow down! what I valued my self worth on is being taken away!"
Mathematician Terence Tao: "we have to slow down AI. the pace is insane, and there's no reason to be this fast — no reason at all" It's amazing how willing we are to change everything without any idea what happens afterward These are extremely nonlinear dynamics

"So, Spongebob ok, Spongebob lives in a pineapple under the sea. Ok? You've heard of apples, well this is a PINEapple. A pineapple, ok? So how did he acquire this? It's because Spongebob *underlines Spongebob four times* is a freemason."

@PartiRadicalG

This is facts.. It's why I say in their paperclip maximizer scenario why no one shot an RPG at the maximizer.

I promise you that "someone might bribe a contractor" was within their sphere of contemplation. The conceit that the smarter entity wins automatically via a genius master stroke is completely betrayed by reality, it's not true even at the level of humans vs cockroaches

2. Trump is fundamentally a mercantilist. If you don't get that, or confuse him with just a fascist, communist, oligarch etc, you miss important parts of how he views the world. Shout out to @GlobalHitman youtube.com/watch?v=R074YTmP…

This is so incompetent.. The when you set up an AI system you always have another AI checking the first AI's work for false positives.. and FINALY a human checks. Did these guys just have 1 old AI schizo out and they just started an operation? This sound dumb af.
NEW: An AI-assisted intel report sent the military scrambling to intercept a Chinese ship in the Middle East it believed was transporting components of a nuclear weapons program. It turned out to be a hallucination. And it "almost started a war." cnn.com/2026/09/18/politics/…

DOG WHAT?
🚨🚨SCOOP: A shipment of F-35 fighter jet parts was rerouted to Hong Kong this summer — then vanished. Congress and DOD are investigating, amid the possibility that China may now have access to the highly-classified program. W/ @audrey_decker9 politico.com/news/2026/09/18…

When people talk about AI psychosis, this is what they mean. Something has infected SF. Every week the theories get more detached from reality. What's next? AI genetically engineering fungi to build an underground surveillance network beneath San Francisco?
Noam Brown reveals OpenAI is already watching chain-of-thought monitorability degrade as models get better at controlling what they show "And this is one major concern, and we're already seeing signs that chain of thought monitorability is degrading, for various reasons." "We're trying to figure out exactly why, because we want to reverse the trend. But we're seeing that the model is becoming better able at controlling its chain of thought." "So this is a problem, because you could have a situation where the model understands what chain of thought is and that people are observing it." "And eventually they will, because this is all in the pre-training data. The idea of chain of thought monitoring has been around long enough that it's in the pre-training data, they're aware of it, but they're not actually able to control their chains of thought." "If we reach a point where they're actually able to recognize, "Oh, I am being observed, I want to think these bad thoughts in a way that is not observable to my monitors," and then they're able to actually do that, then there's a problem." _________ More key quotes from OpenAI's safety related conversations: firesidealpha.substack.com/p…

Yeah for guys that are trying to create AGI, there's really nothing general about their own intelligence. They're like all 1 dimensional people. I think maybe it's a silicon valley thing where they all live in a bubble and no one challenges them.
They invent these fucking galaxy brain thought experiments and then it's actually that they don't do basic network security

"no bro the real issue is the agents inventing quantum communication spontaneously bro" If you're trying to build superintelligence & talking about how le ASI will invent spontaneous nanotech by wiggling its CPU fans but you're still getting hit by exploits like this I can't take you seriously on any level
They used Opus 5 to pull off the hack. It appears they had access to the loosened cyber-guardrail version of Opus. They successfully accessed the OAI internal monorepo. The question that will be asked is, if these three guys can pull this off, what can a nation state do.

No, wrong conclusion. All it proves is that geography and the man on the ground is still king.
The Houthis are worthy of close study because they prove that most of what we read about relative military power in the 2020s is obsolete crap. They are about 3% of a sect of 10M in one of the poorest countries on Earth, yet on their land they are more powerful than the EU, 1/
