Now it’s on the record. The House voted Tuesday to condemn socialism “in all its forms.” H.Res. 1490 passed 220–192. Every Republican voted yes. Eight Democrats crossed the aisle. Two voted present. 192 Democrats voted no. Jeffries voted no. Democratic leadership voted no. Almost the entire caucus refused to denounce socialism and the Democratic Socialists of America. This was not a gotcha. The resolution does five things: Condemns and denounces socialism in all its forms, including the DSA, and opposes socialist policies in the United State. Reaffirms free, fair, and secure elections. States that American elections are for American citizens only. Recommits the House to the Constitution. Calls for enactment of the SAVE America Act so noncitizens cannot vote. 192 Democrats could not vote for that. Rep. Jeff Crank of Colorado, who wrote it, said the quiet part out loud: ten or fifteen years ago this would have passed unanimously. Not anymore. Since the 2025 New York City mayoral win, DSA-aligned candidates have run in more than a hundred races in at least half the states. They are winning primaries. Their platform is not a rumor. It calls to abolish the Senate, replace the President and the Supreme Court with officials chosen by Congress, abolish the Electoral College, grant mass amnesty, and let noncitizens and people with criminal convictions vote. That is why this vote matters. Socialism is no longer a campus poster. It is a faction with elected officials, a written program, and a party that will not even condemn it on the House floor. The excuse will be the SAVE America Act. Fine. Then say it plainly: they would rather protect a voting bill fight than put their names on a sentence that says socialism is wrong and only citizens should vote. That is a choice. History already ran this experiment. Socialist ideology concentrates power. Again and again it collapsed into communist regimes, famine, and mass murder. More than 100 million dead is not a talking point. It is the record. It does not become “affordability.” It becomes the state owning your work, your property, and the rules of the next election. If they will not condemn it in a nonbinding resolution, they will not stop it when they hold power. Midterms are weeks away. This roll call is the scoreboard. Eight Democrats stood up: Castor, Cuellar, Davis, Golden, Gonzalez, Gluesenkamp Perez, Soto, and Vasquez. The rest of the caucus told the country where it stands. Freedom or socialism. They just chose a side. Choose yours.
