Happy birthday to one of the most beautiful souls I know. 29 years of friendship. 29 years of memories, laughter, tears, secrets and trouble. I honestly can’t remember a time in my life when you weren’t a part of it, and I can’t imagine my life without you in it. We’ve been through so many different chapters of life together, but never in a million years did I imagine cancer would be one of yours. If I could take away even an ounce of what you’ve had to go through, I would in a heartbeat. It’s so unfair that someone with such a beautiful heart has had to face something so incredibly hard. I wish you could see yourself through my eyes and know just how much you mean to me and how deeply loved you are. I miss the days when our biggest worries were getting caught sneaking out. I would give anything for life to be that simple again. You deserve so much more than the cards you’ve been dealt, and more than anything, I want to see you happy, healthy, laughing, and making a million more memories. Here’s to 29 years of being my best friend and praying we get 29 more. I love you more than words could ever explain. Happy birthday, Melina.
