Accusing someone of being on ‘meds’ when you are using sock puppets to laugh at your own jokes isn’t the burn you think it is Peter.

Jack Grove has done what journalists with integrity and courage do. He’s followed the evidence. He’s not been deterred by threats and intimidation. And he’s pursued a story in good faith and in the public interest.
Unfortunately for Grove, he lives in a time when everything becomes politicised. And many bad-faith actors, along with those who believe they are good and noble but are actually entirely incapable of interpreting anything outside their own political bubble, have come after him.
If the attacks on Grove are successful, there will be those who celebrate without realising the implications: the chilling effect his silencing and ostracisation would have on journalism as a whole.
Who would want to chase a story if they knew there was a likelihood of political blowback, cancellation, criticism, threats and condemnation? Not many people.
It’s a testament to Grove’s character that he’s stood at the centre of this firestorm and maintained one simple truth: he was doing his job. He did it well. He broke a big story.
The consequences of that story were tragic, but that’s nothing to do with Grove.
If journalists thought, ‘I’d better not write this story because of the mental health impact it might have on the subject’, no stories would ever be written. Because there’s always that possibility, however slim, that being exposed for dishonesty, wrongdoing or bad conduct might tip somebody over the edge.
But without journalism, there would be no democracy, no freedom, no accountability.
Thank goodness the Press Gazette has shown some backbone.
It’s time all of us stood up to the holier-than-thou hypocrites who dress up their ideological, authoritarian instincts in the clothes of compassion.

Forget all the huge supermarkets and their mawkish Christmas adverts, this was the best Christmas advert - Enniskillen pub Charlie's put out this advert back in 2023. It’s brilliant.

This was an important public interest story in my area of expertise - research integrity - which only a specialist reporter could have uncovered. UK universities receive billions of pounds in public money every year and their researchers should face scrutiny, especially when evidence of potential academic misconduct emerges timeshighereducation.com/opi…

The reason Jack Grove’s work is so remarkable is that he had the courage to look for the truth despite the harrassment he would receive from Arday, the police and the likes of Cadwalladr. I’m pleased that some journalists have the integrity to recognise this
Not a single news outlet has reviewed its coverage of Jason Arday, for accuracy or proportionality. Zero attempt has been made to conduct any inquiry into the media’s role in his death. Instead, the industry has moved into self-congratulatory mode. This isn’t just tone deaf, it betrays a systemic failure

Amazing. @kathviner you are a fraudster.

There has been a strong suggestion from her defenders that Lucy Letby is not like the typical Healthcare Serial Killer. The issue is, if you compare her to the small number who target infants, she absolutely does fit the profile. This blog shows how.

You cannot argue by proxy you silly little man. That isn’t how it works, I don’t need anyone to listen to me because she is locked up for the rest of her miserable life.
You keep trying to join the debate but you are too thick to understand the facts
You just and cut n paste lol

Nothing posted yet, tonight, Rob? We had our popcorn ready. You really shouldn't keep us in suspense.
It's amazing the lengths you will go to in your editing and the retired 'experts' you choose to use, to feed into the Letbyist narrative.
What's in it for you, Rob?
Shame on @channel5 and the @TheSun for their complicity. But then expectations for either are not that great to be honest, are they?
An hour and a half interview, and you gave Dewi Evans less than two highly maliciously edited minutes, whilst you and Ferguson hectored him like a couple of vacuous mean girls.
Can't you get any pathologists or radiologists, Rob, or at least someone who is still employed?
Ferguson is a particularly vile, arrogant and aggressive man, isn't he?

We are now ready to start sharing more on our investigation into air embolism - and whether it can really be relied on as the way #lucyletby murdered seven babies. More follows tonight.

A statement on yesterday…..
Everything I said in that interview was true. However, rest assured I’m doing my best to turn things round.
I have been in a mental health clinic for the last 10 weeks, finally discharging so I could attempt to play in Belfast
I owed that to my family, in particular my daughter to see me play for what could be the last time….. I also owed it to the fans who have supported me throughout my 21 years on tour
I also owed that to World Snooker who have been amazing from day on in all this, in particular Simon Brownell and Neil Tomkins who have remained in touch regularly, even Simon paying me a visit in the clinic itself
I’m not ok, but I’m ok in that itself. I’ve been much worse in the last few months than you saw yesterday. I literally didn’t see a future in anything…..
My daughter kept me going, the therapists, staff and all the other patients were amazing and helped me through some really dark days
I see the light now that I couldn’t see before but I do now. I also know it won’t happen overnight. I’m a work in progress!!! My fight and determination on the table has always been there for ones to see. I need to show those same fighting qualities off it now for a while
Please don’t detract anything from Jordan yesterday, he’s been aware of my struggles and that can’t have been easy to play in but he handled it with grace and skill as I knew he would. Im proud to call him a friend
I hope the rest of the event is a success and I will continue my treatments going forward and then see what’s ahead
Thank you to every single message I have received on here, instagram, Facebook, text messages and WhatsApp’s, I’ve seen them all but a bit overwhelmed to reply right now. Just know that they have helped me a lot but I’m not going anywhere just yet!!!! I have so much to live for and this is only the beginning of my new journey
Also, I was not made to do any interviews, I was simply given a choice and felt I owed it to everyone to speak. The media team at WST have been incredible through all this too
Thank you all x

The last couple of words that reporter said to Mark
Without her knowing it without her meaning it or without trying
That right there has probly just saved this man's life because before she said that he was thinking it and maybe thinking twice about it now

I believe it is irresponsible, as a doctor, for you to be commenting on evidence you know nothing about. Babies died, they have parents. It's not a game.
Doctor Caldwell appears to be in mental decline and also knows nothing about the case, has no relevant expertise, is not a neonatologist, and has not seen any of the evidence.
His post graduate training was diabetes and endocrinology - 2 months ago this was his level of knowledge on the insulin babies - it hasn't improved.

I agree. There are many areas of evidential weakness on this case. But, as a doctor, what I think is incredibly worrying is how implausible most of the medical evidence put forward by the police, CPS, prosecution and so called expert witnesses was. To anyone who has practised medicine for any reasonable length of time, most of it just doesn’t hold water and, to be honest, reflects a complete lack of understanding of the practise of medicine and of physiology, pathophysiology and basic medical sciences.
