When noncitizens attempt to insert themselves into our federal election system, it erodes trust and sends the wrong message to those who follow the legal path toward citizenship.
This conduct is not a misunderstanding.
It is not a paperwork error.
It is a deliberate decision to engage in a criminal act that targets the foundation of our republic.

Since 2024, HSI has executed over 116 federal criminal search warrants, seizing more than 500,000 SIM cards, over 1,900 SIM boxes, and more than $700,000 in illicit proceeds.
Scam texts and calls can be part of organized criminal schemes designed to steal login creds, credit card numbers & financial account information. Think before you click. Do not provide personal or financial information in response to unsolicited messages.
SIM farms use devices known as SIM boxes to hold large numbers of cellphone SIM cards, allowing criminals to send high volumes of fraudulent calls & texts while masking where they came from. These tools are commonly used in phishing, smishing and financial fraud schemes.
This local action follows HSI’s nationwide Operation Signal Break, a cyber fraud crackdown targeting illegal SIM box infrastructure used to disguise scam calls and texts across the U.S.
