I AM NOT A LAWYER, AND THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE if you're going to a protest where you expect to get arrested it's extremely important to have arrest training. this thread will not be as useful as a proper training, but i can offer a few tips:

Georgia is considering legislation that would disallow groups (like bail funds and other nonprofits) from bailing out more than three people PER YEAR from jail. this follows the wrongful arrest of three bail fund organizers in Atlanta last year.
As the DOJ investigates the Fulton County Jail, GA legislators are considering SB 63, which would ban bail funds in the state of Georgia, due to a restriction limiting ppl, organizations, nonprofits, & groups from bailing out more than three ppl/ year.ajc.com/news/crime/georgia-o…

Something people who aren’t familiar with the juvenile legal system don’t realize is the extreme majority (I’d guess close to 90%) of kids who end up in the system are on IEPs. We KNOW these kids have disabilities, learning challenges, and mental illness, and we criminalize them.

#MDGA24 must resist any attempts to repeal the crucial parts of the Juvenile Justice Reform and Child Interrogation Protection Acts that protect our kids and our communities. Remember: when it comes to public safety, what's best for kids in trouble is best for everyone!

Local and state lawmakers who want legally innocent children to await adjudication in cages where their medical and educational needs are routinely neglected shouldn’t be lawmakers. Period.

you gotta look at decades in Baltimore to understand crime. It's nuts to credit reductions to certain people/policies. This is a one year murder reduction--a year where violence is down nationwide including in other similar cities. Literally not enough data to make these claims.
Here is a deep dive into homicide and arrest statistics over the last three decades. It's a long read, but worth it.

This thread. The history and current use of surveillance on us citizens to silence them is scary. This is another form of privacy being sacrificed for “security” and power.
RED ALERT: Buried in the House intelligence committee’s Section 702 “reform” bill, which is schedule for a floor vote as soon as tomorrow, is the biggest expansion of surveillance inside the United States since the Patriot Act. 1/11

1/ Last year, children were handcuffed and sent to the emergency room at least 117 times from a small school district in Maryland. It's a practice that disproportionately impacts Black students and students with disabilities. from me and @merkolodner apnews.com/article/disabilit…
