Evidence and experience show that incarcerating young children doesn’t lead to safer communities or less crime.

ALT The Child Interrogation Protection Act, also passed in 2022, is a crucial part of protecting the rights of our children when in police custody. The law ensures kids know their rights, which prevents intimidation, and false confessions, making our communities and our kids safer.

ALT Incarcerating kids doesn’t work. We need to focus on giving troubled kids the right services and support that they need to get back on track.
