Diversity isn't our strength. Unity is. A country is held together by a common identity its people share: our values, our history and pride in our flag. Look at the England football team. Players from every background, all wearing the Three Lions and singing the same anthem. That's real unity. At Michaela, they fly one flag, the Union Jack. No apologies. And her results speak for themselves. Teach kids to be proud of their country and you give them something to belong to. A nation without a shared identity isn't a nation at all.

Solidarity with every woman who bravely reported, endured the long wait for trial, and gave evidence in court against Russell Brand. Especially those who did not receive justice today. Everyone with a basic understanding of the criminal justice system knows that just because the verdict was "not guilty", it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. All we know is that the jury could not be certain “beyond all reasonable doubt”. I want to say directly to the victims: thank you and I believe you. Millions of us do.

Amaaz, 21, from Rochdale, punched PC Lydia Ward so hard it broke her nose at Manchester Airport, then rained blows on PC Ellie Cook. In January 2025 he was given unconditional bail and stayed out for seventeen months until a jury convicted him. Daniel Thomas, 37 (Danny Tommo) has been held since 29 September. He's accused of damaging a boat and of refusing to give police the PIN to his phone. No trial until March 2027. One man's violence earned him a freedom pass.
