🚨FOUR MEN CONVICTED AFTER 16-YEAR-OLD GIRL R@PED AND SEXUALLY EXPLOITED Four men were convicted following an investigation into the r@pe, sexual assault and exploitation of a 16-year-old girl who was driven between Birmingham, Walsall and Greater Manchester. The teenager did not know the men’s identities but remembered hearing nicknames — one of several details that helped police piece together what happened. She first encountered Arqash Zaffar and Mohammed Nadim as they travelled in a BMW along Alum Rock Road in Birmingham. Zaffar asked for her phone number, but she refused and boarded a bus. Days later, the men approached her again on the same road and persuaded her to accept a lift to the city centre. Instead, Zaffar drove to a secluded location, where he and Nadim sexually assaulted her in the back of the car before taking her to Walsall. During the journey, her phone connected to the BMW’s sound system, leaving a clue that later helped investigators identify the vehicle. The girl described how Zaffar subsequently collected an associate, Arif, before they drove her to Manchester to meet Shiraz Nassir. They then travelled to Nassir’s home in Denton, where Zaffar and Nassir raped her. Zaffar and Arif later took the teenager to a hotel in Walsall, where Arif had booked a room. Although he supplied false information about who would use it, he provided his own name, vehicle registration and driving licence — details that helped police identify him. Inside the room, Zaffar subjected the girl to further abuse while Arif was present. Zaffar later drove her to Birmingham and offered another associate the opportunity to stay in a room with her, showing them a hotel key. The associate declined. The teenager also told police she was taken to a hotel that evening, where four unidentified men were waiting in a room and subsequently raped her. After she reported the abuse, investigators used phone records, hotel bookings, vehicle and insurance information, and automatic number plate recognition records to identify four men involved in her ordeal. Arqash Zaffar, 41, of Persehouse Street, Walsall, was found guilty of five counts of rape, four counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity without consent, and facilitating travel with a view to sexually exploiting a child. Shiraz Nassir, 40, of Fir Road, Greater Manchester, was convicted of rape. Mohammed Nadim, 45, of Holtshill Lane, Walsall, was convicted of sexual assault. Shaban Arif, 42, of Holden Crescent, Walsall, was convicted of facilitating a child’s travel with a view to sexual exploitation.
