After seeing Clayface, and how great the DCUs Gotham looked, I’m officially back on the merger bandwagon!

Look...it's The Sun, MOUND of salt, but holy hell this would be the most exciting and inspired pick out of the finalist names. PRAYING it's true! Just think of what Denis could do with an actor like Josh, how Craig-like this could be! I'm so for it. thesun.co.uk/tv/40931395/nex…

Haha love to see it. These people acted like kings yesterday and now coming to the table.
Never accept a first offer folks! Keep it coming
NEW: The AI industry is scrambling to repackage a $10 trillion infrastructure buildout to appease a hostile electorate, that includes:
-No more non disclosure agreements
-Money for schools and cities
-Environmental concessions
-Labor protections
-Codified obligations over voluntary frameworks
-Job training programs
The bottom line: The race is on to see whether Democrats can translate election momentum into binding restrictions or the industry tries to head off tougher rules.

So well said. Absolutely shameful how the media smeared this man, and so glad America has this class of representative heading to DC.
MSNOW: What is your message now to Jewish voters nationally and what you will do to protect them?
Abdul El-Sayed: I’m committed to Jewish safety, and we are united against discrimination. The U.S. spends billions to carry out genocide and apartheid against Palestinians. The genocide in Gaza with our complicity is continuing right now. Nobody wants to talk about that.

Talarico: I was a fan of Elon Musk. I’m a big fan of SpaceX and Tesla. He is a great business leader and entrepreneur and innovator. I want him to stick to those things. I will stand up to Elon when he tries to buy our government. But I will work with him when it comes to technology and innovation.
Talarico’s closing speech: “We’re the state that put a man on the Moon”, invoking Texas's Apollo-era role.
Texas did it in the Apollo era and will matter again for Artemis.
Election is over. It would be something to see Elon and Talarico actually cross party lines to find common ground on space exploration programs.
The “defund NASA” in question.
From yours truly, Trumps FY26 discretionary budget request.

People on spitter when learning that voting for the same people who want to imprison Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, defund NASA, nationalize SpaceX, slow SLS progress and import migrant engineers might not be a smart strategy:

Looking at those midterms results…
Was Dan Houser Partially correct in the end 👀

single issue voters watching starship fail in their imagination, but paying no mind to the attempted NASA cuts from the pedophile presidency earlier this year.
This argument makes zero sense.
While everyday people can donate to political campaigns, an everyday person doesn’t donate $445 million to political campaigns.
Elon does though. His failure, his fault.
He misjudged, and he lost. I don’t know why you don’t just concede that.

This argument really doesn't work, like this would work if you were talking about technical performance. Like bad performance being seen as elons stupidity and good performance being seen as engineering brilliance of the workers

Also they elected a guy who wanted to disband NASA entirely and only got kicked out under tremendous pressure from Elon/others
Anyone who says the Trump admin has been net beneficial to space exploration doesn’t know what they’re talking about

Yup.
And Commercial Crew under Obama.
And Dragon being selected to return Starliner astronauts was also under Biden (and kravenly lied about by Musk)
They’ll be treated normally but there will be scrutiny which is 100% warranted and solely Musks choice he made.

fun fact: starship HLS was selected when Biden was president and the Democrats controlled the senate

Hate to be this guy but I am nuanced overall on data centers / AI.
In general I think AI is a useful and transformative technology. And data centers are things that should and have existed.
HOWEVER.
What people are reacting to is a plethora of real negatives and contradictions. In a country where we can barely build housing and other vital things people have wanted, all of a sudden we can plop down hyperscale industrial infrastructure seemingly anywhere overnight? Ok.
And a lot of them aren’t neutral in their surroundings. Many pollute heavily, are super loud, jack up local power and water prices + supply concerns. Some have started mitigating some of these, but they did happen and continue to.
And what do they get back? Well there’s good construction jobs temporarily and then that’s about it. They don’t long term employee many people, and the wealth goes out of town.
And what’s it all for? Well answers are all over the place, but 2 front running answers are to take your job, and potentially kill you and everyone. I’m not saying that, that’s what the top AI companies say.
As that to general AI fatigue for normal people the technology has largely been implemented annoyingly and terribly and rammed down are throats. And the top real day to day use case people experience are slop, data infringement, and illegal surveillance.
So it’s not hysteria to say, hold up, let’s maybe pause this, or build it elsewhere, or put some conditions / assurances
Basically this industry WAAAAAY overstepping and bulldozing. And yeah, that has negatively polarized the vast majority of people. To the point that nationwide, Republicans have actually ran more anti-data center than democrats. That’s how bad it polled, and now we see how bad it performed.
It’s not just a case of everyone’s dumb and hysteria. There are real concerns and whatever good name AI could’ve had had been really drug through the mud.
The fix is relatively simple for most of it.
Community dividends, net zero energy or put power back into grid, overhaul local internet, sooner past the fence line, net zero water.
And then industry wide regulation in regard to data, safety, and surveillance concerns.
