Today is the last day of ~160 days that I've spent, on & off, at @thenairobihosp over the last 1/4 of a decade...mostly in I.C.U.
My body feels AWESOME right now. It's taken >15 surgeons & specialist, hundreds of nurses & medical staff to put humpty dumpty back together again.
In 1974, there was famous fight in Kinshasa, Zaire, called Rumble in the Jungle.
It was held in Zaire because Mobutu was the only person willing to pay the two fighters - Muhammed Ali & George Foreman - $5M each.
There was a lot of dissent & riots. Watch documentary.
Bayern will receive €5m for the trip to Nairobi, Kenya to play a friendly against Ajax on January 5th. Vincent Kompany approved the trip, which was then handled by Marketing and sales director Rouven Kasper. 'For that kind of money, you have to do it', it was said at Säbener Straße [@mano_bonke]

Is there a single decent human in Trump’s cabinet?
If there were, he or she would denounce this racism.
But there isn’t.

Why offer ice-cream, in November (early winter), when the temperature in Moscow is 6°C
African leaders complain about being summoned by a single country but they keep showing up.
At the Russia-Africa summit, Putin literally handed out ice cream, criticized former colonizers, and called out "active attempts by Western countries" to keep the continent in debt
African leaders troop to Russia, again
CNN's Larry Madowo reports on the third Russia-Africa summit as Putin tells leaders that Moscow is a better friend than former colonial powers
Great song addition to my 'early morning playlist'

I have an Aunt that used to make the most amazing pilau njeri when I was a kid.
If you told me she sprinkled cocaine on it, I'd believe it.
Always planned to ask her how she made it when I next met her.
She passed on last week and, now, I never will.
There's a lesson there.
It's safe to assume that every high-brow media that reports on geopolitics/foreign policy is secretly/indirectly funded by the CIA/U.S. State Dept.
Counterbalance by following a citizen journalist in the region of interest.
FYI, not a U.S/U.K. 'expat' that 'knows' the region.

I got this message from a senior police officer following my request for a statement in the Senate on the welfare of police officers in Kenya.
“I have been asking myself: if a DCI office at the sub-county level receives less than KSh 200,000/- in AIE funds over a period of three months, our salaries, fuel, and motor vehicle maintenance then where does the rest of the billions allocated annually to the police service go?
This is a genuine question about public finance and resource allocation. Officers on the ground are often expected to deliver results with extremely limited operational funds, yet the police service receives a substantial budget every year. Greater transparency on how these funds are distributed from headquarters to operational units would help build public confidence and improve accountability.
Even some sub counties have no vehicles and have as few as four officers and no AIEs.”
Would be great to have a Kenyan election website like theoelections.com (recommend you visit site on desktop/laptop)
Great interface.
Only we'd do counties instead of states and polling stations instead of precincts.
