Esq, distinguishing figurative intent from literal, is simple. And please, drop your abstract examples of metaphor; the case at hand involves two real, verifiable conditions.
If a teacher says 'my class is a zoo,' and a staff says 'no, students are not animals,' the teacher won’t produce animal charts to prove her point, she just laughs and says 'it’s just a figure of speech.'
But when Mum Zee said 'pregnancy is not a death sentence' and people kept giving cases of maternal mortality to prove her wrong. You didn’t take that as a sign that the exchange wasn’t about a metaphor but a literal assertion of fact??.
When a dispute is fought using factual evidence, it is a literal debate over actual outcomes, not a literary exercise. You don’t use factual evidence to argue “the class is a zoo”, nor “life is a journey” nau😂.
It was AFTER sufficient medical opinion saturated the air on the subject that they tried taking the “literary” license to evade the critic of the travesty.
It’s one of the reasons the country keeps failing to win international tournaments.
The physicality in PL is highly unchecked which somewhat kills creativity and flair in the league.
The @FA is simply saying we support tackles like that.
This is really poor by @FA. The governing body is supposed to protect players. It should be disputing this regulatory commission verdict by members drawn from the FA judicial panel. Max Dowman could have suffered a bad injury to his standing leg from a dangerous challenge which went unpunished. Arsenal 16-year-old shouldn’t have reacted but his frustration was understandable. Some other players might have rolled around and ensured a bad challenge was punished. Dowman didn’t. He doesn’t stay down. The FA should have shown some understanding towards Dowman. Instead, it has suspended him for three games. FA priorities all wrong: tolerating a poor challenge and some weak refereeing but punishing a kid who objected to a bad challenge that could have dealt him a serious injury. Protect players. #AFC
If Arteta and the analysts don’t get angry at Havertz when rewatching that match, then something is wrong somewhere.
You can’t be on that kind of wage and play like a semi-pro, it was a very embarrassing performance against a team that’s 18th on LEAGUE TWO table.

In a few hours, I'll be on stage at Moonshot by TechCabal, at the National Theatre in Lagos.
My topic: Liquidity in an Efficient Stablecoin Market.
Here's why I think this conversation can't wait.
Stablecoins in Africa are no longer just something people trade.
→ Importers use them to pay suppliers in China, Dubai and Turkey.
→ Remittance companies use them to move money between corridors every day.
→ Fintechs use them to give users dollar accounts.
→ Freelancers and agencies use them to get paid by clients abroad.
They've quietly become financial infrastructure.
But infrastructure comes with a different standard.
A trader can live with a quote that moves, a settlement that takes a little longer, or a counterparty they found on a P2P app.
A business paying payroll can't. Neither can a remittance company with users waiting for naira, or an importer whose shipment depends on the supplier being paid today.
Once stablecoins carry real economic activity, the question stops being "can I get USDT?"
It becomes "can I get in and out at real volume, at a predictable price, with proof, every single day?"
That's liquidity. And that's where most stablecoin markets are still weakest.
It's also why we need to have this conversation now, while the rails are still being built. Regulation is still taking shape. Businesses are adopting faster than the infrastructure is maturing.
The decisions builders, businesses and regulators make in the next few years will decide whether this market becomes efficient or stays fragmented.
So today, I'll talk about:
→ What deep, reliable liquidity actually takes
→ What builders need to stop rebuilding and start plugging into
→ What businesses should demand from their liquidity partners
→ What regulators can get right to make the whole market safer and more efficient
If you're at Moonshot, come through by 4:10pm, Future of Money Stage
And after the session, stop by the Obiex booth in exhibition hall 2 for a copy of our magazine, Efficiency: The Liquidity Advantage.
See you there.

Raising a special needs child will test a marriage in ways most people can't imagine.
Early on, my wife and I made a choice... we would love each other so fiercely that nothing could ever tear us apart.
So we hunkered down. We stopped living parallel lives and started planning everything together.
We pooled everything from prayer, money, life together.
If I build a company, she's involved. If she has a major decision to make, I'm involved. Next to God, I am her ultimate counsel. If I say no, she respects it (even if I change my mind later).
Guys, when you build together and operate with absolute mutual respect, nothing can break your household.
Now nwww 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽 what kind of take is this.
Some of you are a walking red flag….tweeeeh.
Top European clubs would be stupid if they allow PSG buy this boy again.
🚨🆕 Paris Saint-Germain have concrete interest in Ibrahim Maza ahead of the winter transfer window, with the player’s side aware of the interest. He’s one of the candidates on their shortlist, potentially also as a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Bayer Leverkusen are unfazed and are determined to extend his contract beyond 2030, including a salary adjustment. They see Maza as a future key player.

Not sure anyone is more hated on naija X than that lady.
More like they wait for her to drop her opinion(most times controversial too) and they rush her like bees.
Think she really needs to sit out certain issues on here sha especially the very sensitive ones.
No talksport for me this morning, dem Agbonlahor will do banter and drag us through the mud like mad.
