🚨🚨 Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks and @OversightDems Ranking Member @RepRobertGarcia are demanding an investigation into whether the State Department is applying partisan loyalty tests as part of the selection, promotion, and assignment of American diplomats:
Food insecurity and the humanitarian situation in Sudan are dire. Rubio's aid cuts have made it worse.
The State Dept. must urgently mobilize more humanitarian support for Sudan, push for access to get it to those in need, and prevent external actors from further fueling this conflict.
Sudan’s food crisis is worsening, with 19.5 million people facing acute food insecurity and famine risks rising.
Urgent action is needed to avert famine. The parties to the conflict must allow safe, rapid and unimpeded humanitarian access, protect aid workers and civilian infrastructure, and remove obstacles to aid delivery.
No asylum for people fleeing war in Sudan or conflict in Haiti, but Rubio is rolling out the red carpet for Bolsonaro.
Apparently, fleeing violence doesn’t qualify. Denying election results does.
RM @RepGregoryMeeks: The Egyptian government’s closure of @MadaMasr and its politically motivated detention and conviction of editor Lina Attalah is unacceptable. These actions are attacks on press freedom and a blatant effort to silence independent journalism. I call on Egypt to reverse the closure and release wrongfully detained journalists.

Trump and his billionaire donors get richer while everyday Americans get a bigger bill at the pump for his failed war of choice.
Trump serves himself and his rich friends. Not you.
RM @RepGregoryMeeks: Congratulations to Lula on his electoral victory. The Brazilian people have made their voices heard, and I look forward to working with the incoming government. The Trump administration must support a peaceful and orderly transfer of power that reflects the will of the Brazilian people and respects the democratic process.

🚨🚨Ranking Member @RepGregoryMeeks & @SenPeterWelch, joined by @SenAdamSchiff, @SenatorBennet, @RepMcGovern & @RepJasonCrow sent a bicameral letter to Elon Musk demanding answers on why access to the Starshield communications system was suddenly shut off for Ukrainian forces:
We cannot bomb our way out of the mess Trump has made in Iran.
More unauthorized U.S. strikes would be reckless, costly, and a betrayal to the American people who are being forced to pay for a war they do not support.

Rubio should have never halted these vital fellowships.
RM @RepGregoryMeeks and HFAC colleagues fought to protect them. Now the State Department must restore them as Congress mandated—without political favoritism or ideological loyalty tests.
Congress will be watching.
Reminder for Mike Waltz: the United States government determined genocide occurred in Burma.
ICJ ad hoc "judge" Navi Pillay is tipping the scales on the ICJ’s current proceedings on Myanmar, intending to lower the legal threshold for proving genocide so that weakened and false standard can later be weaponized against American and allied soldiers whenever they raise a finger against terrorists that hide behind civilians. Pillay: We see your agenda and we'll be watching the ICJ’s handling of these proceedings very closely. As our actions against the ICC demonstrate, we will not allow globalist, faux-judges to weaponize the law against our troops, undermine our sovereignty, or put American lives at risk.
The Nobel Committee has disgraced itself by awarding the Peace Prize to Pillay. What a shameful choice to "honor" someone who represents an "international community" with a leftist, globalist, antisemitic agenda.
President Trump is showing a better way, by actually ENDING WARS, bringing hostages HOME, and making PEACE.
RM @RepGregoryMeeks: Rubio is firing or sidelining career diplomats in favor of loyalists. Not meritocracy, but MAGA nepotism. Personnel decisions based on political litmus tests are blatantly illegal and do real harm to national security. Congress and State OIG must investigate—I’m working to ensure that.
SCOOP: The State Dept has started asking career diplomats up for promotion if they voted for Trump in 16, 20, 24.
Federal law prohibits politically based hiring for career staff.
State tells @washingtonsun it's screening for "fidelity" and execution of the president's vision👇
Groveling before a war criminal is unconscionable.
Putin has masterminded the slaughter of thousands of Ukrainian civilians.
He is not a humanitarian—no amount of shameless flattery will change that.
RM @RepGregoryMeeks: President Milei’s endorsement is an inappropriate intrusion into our democracy. American elections are decided by American voters, not foreign heads of state. The U.S. and Argentina share a longstanding relationship built on mutual respect and shared democratic values. President Milei should respect those principles, and Congress must continue to make clear that any foreign electoral interference is unacceptable.
Florida Politics: Republican U.S. Rep. María Elvira Salazar now has the support of Argentine President Javier Milei in her re-election bid in Florida’s 27th Congressional District.
In a video Salazar shared on social media, Milei described Salazar in Spanish as “one of the strongest and most respected voices in the Americas.”

“The United States Congress stands strongly and unequivocally with Ukraine. Russia's continued campaign of war crimes and its slaughtering of innocent civilians, aided by the Trump Administration’s pro-Putin agenda, demands urgent and forceful action from Congress to reaffirm that support."
