FIB-4 misses 36% of significant #fibrosis in #HIV (n≈5,000, 7 centers) — worse in #MASLD.
💡 FIB-4 alone isn’t enough.
➡️ Add metabolic + HIV factors (FIB-HIV)
➡️ Consider earlier transient elastography

The UN recently announced a new UN political declaration on HIV/AIDS, setting out Member States’ commitments to integrating hepatitis programmes into HIV services, including by:
•Promoting and delivering integrated prevention, treatment and care
•Scaling up triple elimination programmes
•Ensuring access to stigma- and discrimination-free services
The @Hep_Alliance has summarised the key items from the new political declaration and outlined how it can be used by advocates to hold their governments accountable; implementing its commitments and eliminating both diseases as public health threats.

❓ FAQ: Why do I need the hepatitis B vaccine?
The vaccine prevents #LiverCancer, liver scarring and #LiverDisease. Many adults may not even realize their risk factors, such as #diabetes. #HepatitisB has very few symptoms, prevention is very important!
