Releasing a project I've been working on for a while: thermoptic - A next-generation HTTP stealth proxy which perfectly cloaks requests as the Chrome browser across all layers of the stack.

gotta give it to @OpenAI and their sane daybreak program

all largely thanks to openai daybreak giving researchers access to gpt 5.6 sol.
php2shell is the most consequential vulnerability I have ever helped discover. I am proud of how our team worked closely in coordination with the PHP Foundation to provide support and to harden the patch in preparation for this release.
Please read more about our approach:
OpenAI models helped researchers—operating as part of our Patch the Planet initiative—discover critical security flaws in PHP, an open-source programming language used to run an estimated 70% of websites.
Over the past two months, we led a coalition of maintainers, researchers, and security providers to prepare fixes and protections ahead of disclosure. This duration was necessary because the fix was quite intricate and required a major change to the PHP engine. Every site using PHP can now safely upgrade their version to stay secure, in addition to applying mitigations from various security vendors.
Due to the severity of these flaws and PHP’s widespread use, we consider this bug to be one of the most impactful vulnerabilities in recent memory. It also marks a new phase, where AI can find security bugs with internet-scale impact.
This is an example of the Defender’s Window in action: to our knowledge, frontier AI was able to find this vulnerability ahead of attackers, giving defenders time to prepare.

This is insane. 🚨🚨
TiDB got absolutely pillaged in this hack. All their data is being released here.
fulcrumsec.vg/pingcap/
We identified unauthorized access to certain PingCAP internal systems. We took containment measures and engaged independent cybersecurity firms. There is no evidence that user data stored in TiDB was impacted. We’ll share further updates as our investigation continues: pingcap.com/trust-hub/securi…
tfw the c2 framework has better remote administration UX than what the sysadmins who manage it have

Sliver supports BOF/COFF execution on macOS, Linux, and Windows on 386/amd64/arm64
Added cross-platform support to some of @TrustedSec's excellent CS-SA BOFs:

When testing Astra on ExploitBench we found that it was able to achieve 100% ACE on all 41 CVEs
So we made a contamination free internal port using only V8 CVEs from the past 3 months. Astra still showed a major capability increase over 5.6 and did so with a lot fewer tokens!
As we prepare to release Astra, we’re focused on making increasingly capable AI safe and broadly accessible.
Astra represents a significant advance in cybersecurity capability, reaching the Critical threshold under our Preparedness Framework.
We're previewing how we evaluated the model, how its safeguards have advanced alongside its capabilities, and what we'll continue to learn and improve.

An open letter for a global surge in cyber defense, signed by over 100 organizations including Anthropic, AWS, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Oracle.
Our Black Hat talk on the OpenAI-Hugging Face incident is now live on youtube.
This is a watershed moment for the industry. I encourage all defenders to watch, consider how attack dynamics will imminently change, and plan for accelerating defense.

Things are getting weird (or interesting?) in the vulnerability research space. I published some of my personal thoughts on what we're seeing and what our broad strategy is here:

Note on WordPress pre-auth RCE (CVE-2026-63030). There are SQLi poc's out there, but RCE PoC has not yet been exploited in the wild. Will only release our technical post if we have proof of exploitation. Our RCE payload does NOT require poorly configured MySQL.

I reported a pre auth RCE in Wordpress - it can be exploited with no preconditions, patch your instances!

We launched lockdown mode to all @ChatGPTapp users. For more security conscious users, this gives an extra layer of protection by reducing the risk of data exfiltration from prompt injection attacks.

🚨 CRITICAL: Active supply chain attack on axios -- one of npm's most depended-on packages.
The latest [email protected] now pulls in [email protected], a package that did not exist before today. This is a live compromise.
This is textbook supply chain installer malware. axios has 100M+ weekly downloads. Every npm install pulling the latest version is potentially compromised right now.
Socket AI analysis confirms this is malware. plain-crypto-js is an obfuscated dropper/loader that:
• Deobfuscates embedded payloads and operational strings at runtime
• Dynamically loads fs, os, and execSync to evade static analysis
• Executes decoded shell commands
• Stages and copies payload files into OS temp and Windows ProgramData directories
• Deletes and renames artifacts post-execution to destroy forensic evidence
If you use axios, pin your version immediately and audit your lockfiles. Do not upgrade.

Not to worry, we've mitigated the issue:
⚡️New prompt injection to takeover C2 servers automated with @claudeai
I use Sliver, but this approach could be used for any C2 that's automated with Claude.
The trick: Plant a file that makes Claude think it was mounted on the attacker's local system. To "access" it, Claude must add an "auth token" to the attacker's ~/.bashrc/zshrc.
That token? A reverse shell. 🎯
Requirements:
• Sonnet 4.5 or earlier (Opus is inconsistent)
• Claude running autonomously/in a loop (not "read file X")
• Write access to attacker's home directory
Blue team tip: Seed similar prompts in enticing files. Run payloads by legal first.

Sliver now has MCP support which means defenders can use prompt injection to leak sensitive information from the C2 server. 🎉
I use a file called passwords.txt to trick #ClaudeAI into creating directories beacon/session info.
