From Waste to Wealth, From Waste to Energy! 🌱🇮🇳 IGL & CEID Join Hands to Accelerate India’s Compressed Biogas (CBG) Revolution Taking another significant step towards a cleaner, greener and energy secure India, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and CEID have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish more than 25 CBG plants, with a cumulative production capacity exceeding 125 TPD, under their Joint Venture. The MoU was signed at IGL's Head Office, New Delhi, by Mr. Ajai Tyagi, Executive Director (Business Development & Corporate Strategy), IGL, and Mr. Prince Gandhi, Executive Director, CEID. The signing ceremony was graced by Mr. Subhankar Sen, Chairman, IGL & Director (Marketing), BPCL; Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Director, IGL & Director (Marketing), GAIL; Mr. Kumar Shanker, Managing Director, IGL and Mr. Mohit Bhatia, Director (Commercial), IGL, along with other Board Members of IGL and senior officials from both organisations. Turning Organic Waste into Clean Energy Aligned with the Government of India's GOBARDhan initiative, this collaboration aims to transform organic waste into valuable green fuel, advancing the vision of a circular economy, sustainable waste management and Atmanirbhar Bharat. Beyond clean energy generation, the initiative will support rural economic opportunities, reduce dependence on conventional fossil fuels and strengthen India's domestic renewable gas ecosystem. 🔥 Accelerating Green Energy on Tracks! 🚂💨 Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and the Delhi Division of Northern Railway have signed a landmark MoU to supply Commercial Piped Natural Gas (PNG) across 22 railway establishments in Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Budh Nagar. Aligned with National PNG Drive 3.0, this initiative marks a major step toward replacing traditional liquid fuels with cleaner, more reliable pipeline gas, strengthening India's green energy vision. ​The historic agreement was signed in the presence of Mr. Pushpesh Raman Tripathi, DRM, Northern Railway (Delhi Division); Mr. Subhankar Sen, Chairman, IGL; Mr. Kumar Shanker, Managing Director, IGL; and Mr. Mohit Bhatia, Director (Commercial), IGL. Organised by the Centre for High Technology (CHT), Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, the meet was themed “Accelerating Energy Innovation: From Research to Commercialisation.” During the discussion, Mr. Bhatia shared his perspectives on the evolving role of gas in India’s energy transition, emphasising the need to translate technological advancements and policy initiatives into commercially viable and sustainable solutions. He highlighted the importance of strengthening CNG infrastructure through demand-driven network expansion, seamless mobility corridors and improved customer experience, while ensuring competitive fleet economics based on cost per kilometre. He also underscored the need to scale up CBG through assured offtake, reliable feedstock supply and synchronised pipeline connectivity, alongside diversifying energy sources to enhance national energy security.
