We welcome Dr Alison Sleigh from the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre at the @Cambridge_Uni who is visiting the @IMS_MRL today and will be talking to us about 'Metabolic Insights into Lipids and Mitochondrial Function using Novel MRS'
Our first talk in this term's seminar series at the @IMS_MRL - Dr Andrew Patton from MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) at the @Cambridge_Uni who will be telling us about 'Cell-autonomous and circuit-level circadian timekeeping in the suprachiasmatic nucleus'
A very warm welcome to our new @IMS_MRL MPhil and PhD students as they begin this new chapter in Cambridge.
We look forward to seeing the ideas, questions, collaborations and research that will grow over the years ahead.

Important paper from Professor Dino Giussani's group (an affiliated PI with the @IMS_MRL)
Black women in the UK are almost three times more likely to die in, or just after, pregnancy than white women.
Research by Grace Amedor from @CaiusCollege and Dino Giussani from @CaiusCollege and @PDN_Cambridge, has found that persistent socio-environmental stressors may sensitise key processes in the body during pregnancy.
These are not the result of genetic differences between black and white women. These stressors influence the body’s ability to function healthily during pregnancy.
