🚨Neighbor Charged With Capital Murder After Shooting Woman on Her Porch in Dothan
A 39-year-old woman was fatally shot while sitting on her back porch, and her neighbor has been charged with capital murder.
Dothan police identified the victim as Brittney Henderson. According to the preliminary investigation, she was on her porch when 22-year-old neighbor Vincent Phillips approached her. After a brief interaction, Phillips fired one round that killed her, then left the scene. Police said Phillips only knew Henderson as a neighbor.
The shooting occurred in the East Spring Avenue neighborhood on a Tuesday afternoon. A shelter-in-place warning was briefly issued before officers arrested Phillips about two miles away without incident. He faces one count of capital murder, which can carry the death penalty. Investigators said the probe remains ongoing as they work to determine a motive.

Birmingham police say two street thugs were arrested within thirty minutes of the murder of Jaxon Bearden, 21.
Ja'Maries Robinson, 21, and Darius McConis, 18, charged with murder. An unnamed female was also wounded by gunfire.
Police are calling it an "armed robbery."

One year ago today, father of five Carl Carpenter, 38, was picking up a co-worker in Lexington Park, MD, when he was murdered by his co-worker's neighbor David Jones, 58, for not moving his truck fast enough.
David, and his wife Djhonna, accepted plea deals two weeks ago and both got "life."

In 1973–1974, Calvin Jackson, a 26-year-old ex-convict living at the rundown Park Plaza Hotel on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, raped and murdered nine women, most of them elderly and living alone. He typically smothered or strangled them during robberies, then sexually assaulted the bodies and stole small items such as TVs and radios. The victims were Theresa Jordan (39), Kate Lewisohn (65), Mabel Hartmeyer (about 60–65), Yetta Vishnefsky (79), Winifred Miller (47), Blanche Vincent (71), Martha Carpenter (69), sculptor Eleanor Platt (64), and Pauline Spanierman (69, killed in a nearby apartment). Many of the deaths were initially ruled natural causes; police linked them only after Jackson’s arrest and detailed confession. He was convicted in 1976 and sentenced to multiple life terms.

Three years ago today, SEPTA bus driver Bernard Gribbin, 48, was shot six times and killed in an unprovoked hate crime attack by female street thug Zhontay Capers, then 21.
On October 9th, 2026, Capers was sentenced to 67 years, with parole eligibility in 32.5.
