A Rafale Marine aircraft successfully landed onboard #IndianNavy's indigenous Aircraft Carrier #INSVikrant on its maiden attempt on 29 Oct 26.
The ongoing trials mark the first steps towards operationalisation of the aircraft in the #IndianNavy.

The Bay of Bengal binds our region's security, trade and prosperity. The inaugural BIMSTEC Maritime Security Exercise brings partner navies and agencies together at Sri Vijaya Puram from 30 Oct to 02 Nov 2026.
The exercise will unfold in two phases. A Harbour Phase of professional exchanges and planning will build trust and understanding, and a Sea Phase will sharpen interoperability on the water. Together they turn a common vision for a safe, secure and stable Bay into coordinated action at sea.

Indigenously designed and built stealth frigate #INSSahyadri arrived at Busan Naval Harbour, Republic of Korea, on 26 Oct 26 for the #IndianNavyโ#RoKN Bilateral Exercise.
The harbour phase will feature cross-deck visits, joint training and sporting events, followed by coordinated maritime operations at sea with ROKS Munmu the Great.

Launching of first Sullage Barge (Yard 142), Keel Laying of third Sullage Barge (Yard 144) and Keel Laying first Bottom Opening Dumb Barge (Yard148) being built by #MSME Shipyard, M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane, for #IndianNavy, was held on 26 Oct 26 at Thane with RAdm Kapil Mehta, ACWP&A as Chief Guest.
These Barges are indigenously designed and built under relevant Naval Rules and Regulations of Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) and will aid in operations of #IndianNavy's platforms and compliance to MARPOL regulations.

Yard 1283, being constructed under Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessel (NGOPV) project, was launched at M/s GSL, Goa on 27 Oct 26 by Smt Sandeepa Sahay in the presence of Shri Vishvajit Sahay, Secretary (Defence Finance).
The construction of NGOPVs is concurrently being undertaken at two shipyards - @goashipyardltd & @OfficialGRSE.

These indigenously built ships will be utilised for multi domain operations, such as maritime surveillance, search & rescue, protection of offshore assets and anti-piracy missions.
NGOPVs derive their names from #Indiaโs rich heritage, with this ship being named as โ๐๐ง๐๐จ๐๐ฉ๐โ, meaning โ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ปโ or โ๐๐ฐ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ดโ in Sanskrit.
This milestone underscores the #IndianNavyโs continued focus on indigenisation and aligns with the Government flagship intiative of #AatmanirbharBharat' and @makeinindia, further strengthening the nationโs strategic and industrial capabilities.

The exercise commenced with an Opening Ceremony onboard #INSNilgiri and #INSKamorta.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief Staff Officer (Operations) of the Eastern Naval Command, the Fleet Commander of the Republic of Singapore Navy, and other senior officers from both Navies.
First conducted in 1994 as Exercise Lion King, #SIMBEX has evolved into a key maritime engagement between the two Navies.ย

The Indian Navyโs Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Seminar, SWAVLAMBAN 2026, is being held in New Delhi on 26โ27 October, bringing together stakeholders from the defence industry, startups, MSMEs and the wider innovation ecosystem.
Addressing the seminar, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh called for 'Aatmanirbharta 2.0โ, emphasising cutting-edge indigenous technologies, robust R&D and resilient supply chains to advance Indiaโs journey towards defence self-reliance.
The event also featured the release of two publications โ 'Compendium of Technology Imperatives, Problem Statements and Future Concepts' and 'Swavlamban 5.0', along with certificate distribution and a technology exhibition featuring over 100 stalls by startups and MSMEs, showcasing innovation and indigenisation efforts in the defence sector.
