It’s our birthday! Thirteen years ago we opened our doors for the very first time!
I haven’t done this on my own. The amazing suppliers who make me look good and our wonderful clients have kept us going all this time.
I’m beyond grateful I get to live my dream every day.
For the first time ever, I genuinely don’t know what to say other than my thoughts are very much with the family and friends impacted by this vile person.
Their lives really won’t be the same.

In light of the crimes perpetrated by Robert Bush who is in court this week for sentencing, immediately after news broke in March 2026, the GFG grouped together amazing funeral directors to write documents and proposals
Well, this is the coolest thing - Lucy is in a book which is all about women and their vehicles and breaking barriers in male dominated industries.
They are all amazing and Luce still doesn’t know why she was chosen but we do….we think she’s pretty rad!

Our gorgeous girl died last week just days after her 9th birthday.
Our office dog for 4 years, she was hugely spoilt by our lovely clients.
As a family, we are devastated but how lucky we were to love and be loved by her for nearly a decade.
It’s always been hugely important to us that ALL of the people that decide to use our service feels fully supported.

I am genuinely sad to read this today.
It was a pleasure to work with Frank to improve funeral pricing transparency throughout the UK.
What impressed me most, was his genuine drive to do right and give a voice to the voiceless.
What a huge loss for us all.
A decade ago, I changed things I couldn’t accept.
I’ve been surrounded by amazing suppliers who are coffin makers, bearers, florists, ministers, carriage masters & celebrants who helped me shape what I thought a funeral director should be.
I celebrate you all today.

Of course Lucy would have amazing stories about funerals & couldn’t believe it when we listened to @KathyBurke #WTAWTAW podcast.
Glorious Kath is right, funerals don’t have to be somber and anything is possible.
You are right Kathy, she does give a right good send off!
Thank you everyone for giving me the best ten years of my life and letting me life out my dream. I can’t wait to see what the next decade will bring. m.facebook.com/story.php?sto…
It was 10 years ago today that I got the keys to my office and what an unbelievable decade it has been.
I’ll forever be grateful to my clients who knew they would be safe in my hands and to my amazing family and friends for being my cheerleaders.
Here’s to another 10!
‘Leaving drinks were essential for work purposes,’ says Boris Johnson during the worst of the pandemic and breaking every rule the majority lived by.
That was to stay at home, social distancing, wear a mask.
When the pandemic broke, I made a Will on my 38th birthday.
We had to explain to clients that we could only make funeral arrangements by phone or email.
We had to explain we couldn’t dress their person & that they couldn’t come to our office to see them.
We then had to explain the maximum amount of people allowed to attend the service.
We had to explain that we couldn’t keep their person ‘until the pandemic was over’ because we didn’t know when it would end.
The trauma that our clients and staff went through was unfathomable and all while the PM partied.
Truly lost for words.

It’s International Women’s Day and it is always a day we sit and take a moment to reflect.
It was 70 years ago, Lucy’s Grandmother wasn’t allowed to go the funeral of her own mother.
Now, seven decades later, her granddaughter owns a funeral company.

Where women are in the office talking to clients doing the ‘gentle’ work while the men are attending funeral services.
At The Individual Funeral Company, we have always strived to be pioneering. Where gender isn’t a barrier or issue.

So, here’s to us. The pioneers, the women changing the face of professions and to the amazing women we surround ourselves with to be able to do it.
