I know @HaleyforMI way better than most people on X. She and I came into Congress together in 2018. She was co-Prez of our freshman class. She was incredibly kind to me when my late partner died; she organized a big group of our class to come to the House floor to support me when I spoke about his suicide. We were roommates in 2023, after my wonderful first roomie lost her election; both my adult kids know Haley well and are on a texting basis with her. Weāve socialized and we have good friends in common. While she and I differ on one impt issue, specifically Israel and AIPAC support, Iāve never publicly challenged her on those things, because I felt that her good points outweighed the issues I disagreed with her on. Today, that changes. š
Haleyās endorsement of Rogers in the MI senate race is appalling. Not because heās a Republican, but because what he stands for is what she, and I, and our caucus has fought so hard against. Rogers is a 100% anti-choice politician. He is a Trump loyalist. Heās shown his Islamophobia in his many remarks against @AbdulElSayed, and with this endorsement, Haley has shown that she agrees with his positions. Iām shocked by Haleyās endorsement. Iām terribly sad and disappointed. Iām furious and will be more so if we lose the MI senate race. So many people in the Democratic Party have shown so much support to Haley over the years, and she has betrayed them all. If this is because of her new relationship (about which many of us were so happy for her after she lost the primary), all I can say is that any woman who abandons her friends when a new guy comes along is no friend at all. The fallout for Haley wonāt just be in Dem politics; she will be a pariah among her friends in the Democratic caucus in Congress. Only she will be able to decide whether it was worth it.

Just like El-Sayedās disqualifying response to the terror attack at Temple Israel (āhurt people hurt peopleā), his response to the Rebellion PAC ad has once again demonstrated his callousness and disregard for Jewish community safety.
As Haley Stevens correctly points out, the ad reflects disgusting and dangerous arguments Abdul has made *himself* throughout this campaign:

TRAGIC AND PREVENTABLE DEATH:
Ryan OāShea, 21, a University of New Haven student and club hockey senior assistant captain, was killed Oct. 16 in a head-on crash on I-91 in North Haven, CT, when a pickup truck traveling the wrong way struck his vehicle.
The driver was Guillermo Carmona-Lopez, a 31-year-old Mexican illegal alien. He should never have been in the United States in the first place, let alone behind the wheel.
In May 2013, Border Patrol arrested Carmona-Lopez after he illegally entered the country. He was issued an expedited removal and removed. He then illegally reentered ā a felony ā and was arrested again by Border Patrol. He was issued a final order of removal and later reentered at an unknown time and place.
OāShea was returning to campus after a hockey game. He was studying criminal justice and aspired to join the NYPD. His family joins the many American families who have been left with unimaginable loss.
Loss that was preventable.
This is our why.
