U.S. employer healthcare costs are expected to surge again next year – but why is this the case?
A recent report from benefits consultant Aon projects that employer healthcare costs in the U.S. are set to climb 9.5% in 2027, pushing average costs above $19,000 per individual employee. Analysts told the Daily Caller News Foundation that factors such as a lack of price transparency across the nation’s healthcare system and the rollout of costly hospital services could be driving up these costs.

UPDATE: Today is my last day at the @DailyCaller.
I’m incredibly grateful for nearly three years helping grow our communications and social platforms alongside incredible colleagues — so many of whom became great friends.
We consistently punched above our weight, did work I’m proud of, and had a lot of fun along the way.
I’m excited for what’s ahead in my next role. I’ll be staying in D.C. and moving outside the media industry, but I’ll still be active on here!

🚨 SCOOP 🚨 from @HeartlanderNews:
Three days before Trump’s inauguration, the Biden admin approved changes that let a green energy nonprofit route billions in YOUR taxpayer money to several funds managed by Wall Street firms — and away from proper government oversight.
The Biden Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) launched a giant green energy program that has since been cancelled, though legal questions remain.
The program was purportedly supposed to reduce emissions and help low-income communities. Then, billions ended up at the fingertips of Wall Street's biggest private equity firms.

The Trump administration is deferring over $1 billion in federal Medicaid payments to California and Minnesota as part of its ongoing healthcare fraud crackdown, Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Tuesday.
Kennedy said during a press conference that HHS is “not sending Medicaid or Medicare dollars out the door until we have confidence that they are being spent lawfully and appropriately.” The payment deferrals aim to advance the Trump administration’s ongoing “effort to combat fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicaid and safeguard federal taxpayer dollars,” HHS said in a news release.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz said during the news conference that fraudsters’ “days of stealing from the American taxpayer are over.”

“Many Americans may be increasingly relying on AI for mental health-related questions as it is convenient and can provide information at little to no cost,” the indefatigable @IrelandOwens1 identifies a growing pattern in our technological guinea pig generation.
“AI may ‘also be biased by its training data, meaning it is necessary to be selective about what information it is trained on, because even much of psychology research has proven unreplicable.’”
