Today at #UNGA81 First Committee, 🇮🇪 highlighted that progress on disarmament and non-proliferation obligations are urgently needed amid growing nuclear risks.
We cannot allow today’s challenges to undo the progress we have achieved.
Ireland remains firm: more nuclear weapons do not bring greater security.

14,244 children were killed or maimed in armed conflict in the last year.
This is the highest number in 30 years.
Air strikes, explosive-armed drones, and conflict in urban areas leave children more vulnerable.
At #UNGA81 this morning, 🇮🇪 called for full respect for international humanitarian and human rights law and the full implementation of the #EWIPA Declaration to halt these appalling human rights violations against children.
