The goal is simple: support your friends and create more cool things in the world. Whether it's organizing local meetups or building community spaces, fostering connection is how we all succeed together.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing friends succeed and work together on projects they love. Watching talented people connect and build cool things is what community is all about.
Walking into a bookstore and asking for something new is a reminder that the world is infinite. No matter how deep you go into an industry or a craft, there is always more to discover. Have you ever felt like a beginner in your own field?
Sometimes a single book changes your perspective forever. Finding a story that breaks the mold of what you thought was possible in a medium is a rare, formative experience. Have you ever had a moment like that?
Watchmen is a literary masterpiece, but starting here as your first comic is a mistake. Its dense character work and intricate visual storytelling require a foundation in the medium to truly appreciate. Master the basics before diving into the deep end.
One year ago we aired our first episode!
Thank you for anyone who has been listening, sharing, supporting, commenting, and who came on as a guest!
Here is to year 2 of the podcast - more episodes, more comics, more guest, more topics, and more events to cover!
People will often try to bury your dreams because your growth makes them feel inadequate. It is far easier to drag others down than to rise yourself. Never let those who choose to coast stop you from making something of your life.
True brand building isn't just about individual pieces of content. It’s about catching the vision of the big picture. Once the depth and long-term potential become clear, the path forward shifts from experimentation to intentional growth.
Stop chasing approval and start creating what you love. When you stop worrying about how your work will be perceived, you finally find your authentic voice. It turns out that not caring is exactly how you make things people actually care about.
If you want the best advice for navigating the world, it is simple: say yes to opportunities and prioritize building genuine friendships. It really is that straightforward.
We keep claiming a book or comic is our absolute favorite, but the truth is, we probably haven't even found it yet. There is so much great art still waiting to be discovered. Have you found yours yet?
Just recorded for 2 hours with an amazing guest!

What to look forward to…
😒 Anne annoying the shit out of Tom
👂 Tom not listening to what Anne actually said
📚 We discuss not 1 but 2 new comics
🧠 Sharing collecting insights and creators we are currently exploring
What’s a character/franchise/IP that you keep coming back to, and why?
I think why I love the Zelda franchise so much is mainly for 2 reasons.
1 - most importantly it has brought me and my kids (especially my son) so much closer. They love to sit and watch me play. When I’m battling a boss they are jumping around the room nervously and when we defeat a boss we collectively cheer together.
2 - Link is basically an old friend at this point. We’ve grown up together through the games. Sure we at one point grew apart, many years of not seeing each other, but we reconnected a few years ago and the bond has been stronger than ever.

The universe works in mysterious ways.
We still can’t believe this moment actually happened during New York Comic Con!
One moment we joke with Kate how it will be “real easy to get Bill Sienkiewicz to sign our annual jump” and the next moment he unexpectedly shows up at the VeeFriends Booth…right next to us! 🤯

What started out as getting a few @veefriends annual jumps signed by some of the artist who have contributed to it, turned into trying to get every artist in the book to sign the cover.
During New York Comic Con we got 13 artists + Universe Creator @garyvee to sign the jump
The two signatures we didn’t expect to get that day - @robertliefeld and @SienkiewiczArt 🤯
