Excellent analogy for the Ofsted inspection process from an ex-inspector:
‘It’s like measuring a cloud with a ruler. There are aspects of a cloud which you can measure with a ruler, but it will tell you nothing about the nature of the cloud.’

Discussion today about expanding our after-school provision in September, not to develop social skills, life skills etc but to provide a warm refuge for pupils who will be going home to cold houses this winter.
Welcome to Britain, 2022.

On 15th December last year I was trying to staff a school with 9 teachers & 13 teaching assistant off with Covid or having to isolate.... I don’t remember having time to host a virtual quiz.... & I’m just a deputy headteacher. #Johnson was running a fucking country!!!

Genuine question @branwenjeffreys @JohnGRoberts:
When was @GavinWilliamson last seen or heard in public?
Try telling this to a class full of Y11 pupils. Cue a chorus of “What’s the point of this?”.
They’re not fucking stupid, Amanda!

Surely I can’t be the only one thinking, thank fuck pupils aren’t going to be forced to stay in school for an extra 30 minutes every day, which was yesterday being reported as Tsar Kevan’s plan.

In his diaries, ‘In the Thick of It’, former Tory minister @SirAlanDuncan calls @GavinWilliamson a ‘venomous, self-seeking little shit’............ which is interesting. 😂

Gavin Williamson has announced that pupils and staff in schools across the country should wear face masks at half mast on Monday as a mark of respect for #PrincePhilip

@tweetsbyames @Specktator100 @JohnGRoberts could you get this sorted please - it’s very irresponsible and potentially dangerous journalism from @tes

You really need to delete this tweet or change the headline. It’s dangerously misleading. If you’ve had the vaccine you still need to take the same precautions as before. You can still catch Covid and still transmit it. Check with NHS and Public Health England.

Good to see your tweet has been deleted but rather churlish not to have replied or acknowledged your error.
My last lesson inspection feedback from Ofsted:
“You don’t have any authority!
Read the Ofsted Handbook!
READ IT AND UNDERSTAND IT!!!”

At least schools didn’t spend all Christmas holidays putting things in place for this.... oh, hang on!

Schools can activate accounts after today’s ‘deadline’

Wow.
Department of Health said - on the record - the Guardian story about the regulator not approving mass tests in schools was ‘not true’.
The regulator has just sent a statement saying it is true 😬
The Department for Education has confirmed mass testing in schools – including the roll out to primary school staff next week – will continue as planned after denying reports the programme had not been formally approved by the regulator

Can I ask if any school who have trialled #lateralflowtest have had a positive result yet? No need to reveal any information, just a yes/no (although if you are able to give a %, even better!)
Replying to @branwenjeffreys
@branwenjeffreys
Every time a pupil takes a #lateralflowtest in school they have to register the test. Ideally this has to be done on their mobile, but like most schools we have a no mobiles policy. All our pupils also have SEND and are unable to register themselves.
identified quickly and sent home are actually circulating in school. The registration process is designed to kick start track and trace if positives are identified. But local Public Health told us this functionality doesn’t currently work.
