America’s Permitting Crisis lives at City Hall
Federal regulation gets most of the airtime, but the on-the-ground reality of building things in America means that you are often held up by local authorities rather than the feds.
I wrote an op-ed for @UtilityDive on this subject, more below 👇

Good write up of the Venture Dallas event. Had the good fortune of sharing the stage with Sal Churi of Trust Ventures, a huge and early believer in Base Power’s mission.

Great to talk to Lana Ferguson at the Dallas Morning News yesterday at Venture Dallas. On stage, I announced our partnership with Hillwood. Excited to be partnering with them!

What better way to announce a $250m funding round at a $2.45b valuation than with a picture from orbit of the signatures who made it happen.
Phil Bartlett ran Maine's PUC, and now he's at Base helping make customers part of the solution. Welcome Phil.

We are growing faster than ever 📈
A year ago we started expanding outside of Texas. Today @basepowerco is in three states, with several more coming soon. Every new market brings a new utility, new permitting rules, and new homeowners to win.
We're hiring full stack engineers on Core Experience and Growth. Come build the software engine that powers our expansion and member experience.
If that's you or someone you know, please reach out. Links 👇

Proud to share the announcement of our first regulated utility partnership outside of Texas. We're going to Georgia!

We’re excited to announce our partnership with Central Georgia EMC, deploying 50 MW of residential battery storage across the cooperative’s service territory. It’s our first utility partnership outside of Texas.
The program gives @CentralGAEMC a networked fleet it can dispatch 24/7, adding local capacity to support the grid. Members get automatic whole-home backup for $95, with no additional monthly costs.

There will be a second one soon 👀
Pennsylvania is home to the only steel mill in the United States that helps produce transformers for our grid, and thanks to @POTUS, this facility is staying open and increasing its output by 25%.
First partnership of its kind with the Army. Congrats Jai, Eli and team.

Amca has been awarded a contract by the @USArmy, establishing an enterprise-wide partnership with Army Materiel Command for rapid engineering, qualification, and component production.
This is the first partnership of its kind, designed to increase readiness for a priority missile system by re-engineering and improving manufacturability of critical components and subsystems.
We're grateful for the Army’s trust, urgency, and leadership, and look forward to re-engineering American industry together.
Excellent long-form piece by @rmcentush about the Texas grid.
Badass. So proud of my former @anduriltech colleagues.
