Today we remember John Smith who died thirty years ago. I remember being with him the night before he died when he ended his speech with "all we ask is the opportunity to serve." John's whole life was a testimony to the nobility of public service.

Today I’m remembering my husband Gordon Aikman and all who have died from Motor Neurone Disease. There is still no cure.
He died 7 years ago today and we are incredibly proud of everything he achieved.
