If you haven't yet, get out and vote!
@TomTiffanyWI ran hard through the finish. Throughout the campaign he proposed serious reforms that would make Wisconsin competitive again, like reforming K12, eliminating the state income tax, and streamlining the rulemaking process.
No doubt in my mind he would make an outstanding governor. The status quo won't cut it. New leadership is desperately needed.

Someday we’ll look back at this election and ask: Why were virtually no candidates, from either party, talking about the national debt?
We’re debating data centers while ignoring arguably the greatest long-term threat to our economy and national security.
Eventually, the math matters.

Is UW's BadgersVote initiative violating the Wisconsin Constitution by using private funding for its get out the vote machine while partnering with the Madison City Clerk?
Remember, in 2024 over 54% of Wisconsinites voted to amend the state constitution. This was the amendment question:
Question 1: “Use of private funds in election administration. Shall section 7 (1) of article III of the constitution be created to provide that private donations and grants may not be applied for, accepted, expended, or used in connection with the conduct of any primary, election, or referendum?"

Great analysis from @American_Habits + @RayNothstine. All the focus is on Congressional races. But don't forget about the impact of gubernatorial races.
"Today, the need for that kind of bold, state-level leadership has never been greater. Congress has become increasingly dysfunctional, and federal spending has careened onto an unsustainable path. History suggests that Congress will not reform itself from within. Any serious effort to restore fiscal responsibility and constitutional order must begin in the state capitals."
With the general election looking more and more dire by the second for the GOP, this is some really insightful analysis from @DairylandSent and @joeminocqua.
Breaking the state down by 8 regions, Joe points out the MKE and Dane County regions' early vote totals are each down by over 10% from 2022.
Recently I had the chance to sit down with my good friend Brian Dainsberg, lead pastor at @myabcchurch, to discuss the rise of socialism in America. We break down:
* the policy proposals outlined in the DSA "program,"
* what is fueling the growth of this movement in America,
* why the constitutional principal of separation of powers is the most critical line of defense against this vision,
* what implementation of the program could look in Wisconsin, and
* what can actually fix the underlying frustrations that are drawing people to the DSA.

Very interesting map for understanding the current geopolitical dynamic in the Middle East.
Netanyahu showcased this map tonight during his address outlining Israel’s new security doctrine.
The map illustrates an emerging geopolitical realignment in the Middle East, dividing the region into 3 competing blocs.
A Sunni alignment centered on Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Pakistan.
An Iranian axis stretching through Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen.
And an Israeli and Emirati strategic partnership, with a wider network of regional allies.
These are not necessarily formal military alliances, but a depiction of how regional powers are positioning themselves.
Turns out in addition to facing potential constitutional questions, UW's get out the vote operation is using some questionable marketing.
The Student Voters Union and "Se* Out Loud" are encouraging voters to "drag" themselves to the polls with the help of a "drag king."
The event is funded "in part by an Associated Students of Madison viewpoint neutral grant."

Outstanding analysis from @uwfederalist's Colin Burns (who is also a @ReformingGovt Fellow). There are serious constitutional questions that must be answered by UW's BadgersVote Coalition...

Our new report raises questions about private sponsorship and ties to election officials. IRG is calling for a full financial audit and legislative oversight.

With Planned Parenthood of WI now "ask[ing] Wisconsin courts to affirm the Constitution's promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" by bringing a "landmark" abortion lawsuit, the question remains - are the campaign promises like the one from Judge Brunette below a violation of SCR 60.06(3)(b)?
I think the answer is clearly YES. The PP case is not merely "likely" to come before #SCOWIS, it has already been filed in circuit court and almost certainly will be appealed to the Supreme Court.
