The amount of bad software in the world today still is incredible to me. Care and attention have been in short supply and I guess the ability to magick out better software hasn't changed that
At this point the reaction is: Bad software: I'll just build my own. Good software: I'd rather use this and let it get even better than build my own.

Huge thanks to the amazing @mercury team! This was was a bug and they fixed it. On a Saturday morning. I just love Mercury! And if your current bank doesn't support Agents, check them out. They have a *very* good CLI, API and MCP integration. @immad @rywiggs! 🙏
I love @mercury's online presence, it's second to none. But the fact that I can't use their cards to pay a vendor in the European Union is crazy. It makes it hard to see them being used as a primary bank for start-ups.

There is a lot of obvious spam replies, but whenever I start thinking about this more I'm reminded of how hard the Jagex anticheat team had to work for years (pre-ai) because of the extreme overlap in human and bot behavior. "No person would create a new account and play for 36 hours straight" uhh have you met streamers trying to make a buck
How it possible for x to not detect the reply spam? Account made in June 2026 and they send 30 replies every 25 minutes. It seems like you could sweep at least 67% of the spam very easily??

Machines are tools, not persons. Today, some propose granting these systems rights, or even legal personhood. Such an approach risks obscuring human responsibility and leaving those who suffer harm to confront a faceless entity.

Because @AmazonKDP can't figure out how to control the AI slop they encourage people to publish, they've now limited the number of books "any" publisher can submit to their platform. I say "any" because obviously this won't apply to the Big 5; it also won't affect legitimate indie authors. So really mid-list presses are the only ones affected and the book market will continue to consolidate and ossify. Thanks Amazon!

Today my 6yo discovered the joys of reading and pooping. He was late to dinner because he had to finish his "Who Would Win Reptile Battle" book before he could wipe.

Michelin? The food reviewers?
Why does @Michelin not stand behind their tire warranty? My F150 Platinum made it 44,000 miles on 70,000-mile-warranted Defender LTX tires and the tire shop says there is nothing they can do. I even have receipts proving three different tire rotations and they don’t care. I pay extra for nice long-warranty Michelins so I know I’m covered so it’s not great to find out they’re really not.

Customer: hey GitHub could we get the ability to delete old PRs permanently? You know just to clean up mistakes or for data retention purposes. GitHub: hold my beer
some people seem to not understand how retarded this is 1. our entire org was deleted without even an email including our 10k star repo 2. it took 2 weeks to get a response "oops sorry a bug on our end deleted everything after 90 days from when you cancelled your Enterprise free trial in July" 3. folks, our "free trial cancellation" was upgrading to full enterprise we've spent $ thousands on seats, CI, etc and are still paying 4. the "fix" 2 weeks later - our main repo is undeleted but currently under someone else's account - 3 repos, prs, etc cannot be recovered - thousands of potential stars lost - customer trust, potential contributions lost - so much time and headache AND this is even with us being a YC company + having plugged in investors + channels to get escalation I can only imagine what other companies are going through with GitHub right now I really hope with the bottom of my heart someone displaces Github. GitLab isn't it.

1/ Hiring your first employee is one of the biggest moments for a founder. But payroll, taxes, benefits, and compliance are far more complicated than they need to be. Now with AI we can make the pain of payroll go away. @Mercury Payroll* launches today!

I'm proud of everything I've helped contribute to Mercury over the last ~7.5 years. If you've used the product at all, you've probably interacted with code I wrote personally. We're building a healthy, sustainable business that will last for decades.
