Movember is over 〰️
I've donated to @ProstateUK & @samaritans to help tackle men's mental & physical health
I'm not asking for any donations, I just hope you'll talk to the men in your life; tell them to get the right health checks at the right ages & speak up if they feel low
Still time to register to hear me talk about how catchment management works & why I think a targeted evidence based approach can produce real benefits for farm & environment
TOMORROW: Join us for our next Zoom into Soil webinar on 10 July at 12-1pm. Led by @ECSoil_Sci, join Lisa Donovan, PhD Researcher at @CranfieldUni, and @JamDowers, Catchment Scientist at @stwater, as they discuss #soils & water.
REGISTER FOR FREE: ow.ly/zor950So5FB
There's lots of well established (+ new & upcoming) science on how to farm with minimal impact on the envrionment...
...but how do we actually get these solutions enacted on farm?
Tune in to find out! 👇

Looking to continue my @BASISRegLtd membership, but struggling with the fees as a #student. Does anyone know of any charities that may support this funding? I've looked into Douglas Bomford Trust already, and used the helpful search tool by #AFCP but nothing suitable!
Disappointed @MetroUK marking earth day by promoting voluntourism. Not only does it involve flying around the world, it surely (?) prevents locals from engaging in conservation by reserving it for wealthy tourists?, but maybe it generates £ that wouldn't otherwise go into it? 😵💫
I'm posting because it's #EarthDay2024 I usually don't chat about my lifestyle/environmental choices, but I've recently learnt folks may modulate their own behaviour when they're aware of others doing so, especially wrt flying which I've avoided since 2019 papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.…

What would be more fun is a financial fair play -esque mechanism where top emitters suffer point penalties.
📏 ⚽ We're proud to unveil our new carbon footprint calculator, tailor-made for football organisations.
🟢 It will help them understand and reduce their carbon emissions in areas such as mobility, purchased goods and services, facilities and logistics: ⬇️

Is being in your 20s & investing more than the bare minimum in a private pension similar to placing a large bet on us solving climate change & avoiding societal collapse?
Is it a bet you'd make? I don't like the odds

Clear difference in sediment load where water from these two ditches meet (first photo). Water from left draining a grass field, meeting water from ditch draining mix of arable & grass - at least one of those arable fields currently bare. Rest of drains running brown #SoilErosion
