A completely obvious comment in any other job outside of the public sector.
🔴EXC: Stephen Kerr, the government's Social Security Director, has caused fury among civil servants for comments on an internal message board He told staff upset at new mandatory 40% office working days that if 'they don't like it they can leave' scotsman.com/news/politics/a…

Well it’s a view I suppose
I don't want to make a martyr of the Fort Hood terrorist. @POTUS @SecWar if you really want to deter future Islamist terrorists, use fear and shame in their executions. All-female firing squads with bullets dipped in bacon fat.

It’s like when that one dorky kid in the edgy friendship group goes far and all the others are like, ‘stop being a dork’.
I absolutely support the sentence of death, but live-streaming executions is what jihadists do. America is better than that.

I’m sure he’ll be welcomed back to Dundee with open arms…
NEW: Bulgarian man who made sexual remarks towards group of children in and attacked 12 year old girl - who produced an axe as seen in viral footage - refuses to apologise for his actions. Ilia Belov, 23, given 300 hours unpaid work at Dundee Sheriff Court. @lbc

Absolutely a close, although that’s also the name for the communal area in a tenement.
What do you call an alleyway? Across Britain, there are more than a dozen dialect words for a narrow passageway, with 'ginnel', 'cut' and 'snicket' among the most common Alley: 84% Passage: 31% Ginnel: 14% Cut: 7% Snicket: 6% Entry: 6% Close: 6% Gully: 4% Jitty: 4% Wynd: 2% Vennel: 2% Twitten: 1% Tenfoot/eightfoot: 1% Pend: 1%

Defending a leader who has, as one of their key weaknesses, a complete obsession with discussing American politics incessantly by discussing American politics.
Ed was right to say at that we are in the fight of our lives against the right, who want to turn our country into their version of Trump's America. @EdwardJDavey is the most successful leader in Lib Dem history, and will be the one to lead us into the next General Election.

Idk, was it not maybe the cancer or the being 87?
Inhumane neoliberal housing policies have killed an 87 year old cancer patient That’s what happened today in Spain And what did these neoliberals do the past few weeks? Complain about how she’s a spoiled boomer While she was a dead sick woman who had got kicked out of the only stable thing she had in life — a home And neoliberal policies took it away from her. As the rights of wealthy landlords apparently count more than that of vulnerable people like Maricarmen

Swear I tweeted a while ago about creating a minister for pretty things which essentially deals with stuff like this.
Martin Lewis has asked the public for simple, inexpensive and broadly uncontroversial changes that could make Britain work a little better. What better place to start than with putting an end to street scars? We can hold utility companies to account for scarring our streets with just a few changes to legislation that will: 🚧Make them put pavements back exactly as they found them and increase the fines for failing to do so. 🚧Require them to pay the full cost of restoring damaged pavements to the original standard. Please submit your small ideas for fixing Britain to the Small-Ideas.org website. It’s a new charitable initiative I’ve set up to try and make sure life’s potholes don’t get ignored. Working with two charities and a cross party panel to turn your ideas into policy then try and make it happen. Please share.

Maybe I’m not *that* much of a nimby…
Just think, due to urban sprawl, in 20 years there'll be no distinct Glasgow or Edinburgh anymore , just one super city stretching from Musselburgh and Tranent to Gourock and Dumbarton . Probably the UK's third biggest city. I say we call it 'Edinburgh'

This stupid ‘total democracy’ approach that the Green Party cling to is insane. How can you allow people who would play no part in delivering a policy, be allowed to decide policy, it’s mental.
