It was an honor to meet with three legislators from the Japanese Diet who represent the Japan-U.S. Parliamentary Friendship League at the Capitol today.
The U.S.-Japan alliance is a critical cornerstone of peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.
We must continue to deepen our alliance with Japan, alongside our strategic and economic partnership that has resulted in opportunity and growth for both our nations.
I hope these books open new doors & foster readers' lifelong interest in Japan! I joined the Japan-America Society of Wisconsin as they donated 113 books on Japan and Japanese culture to the Edgerton Public Library as a part of the “Library of Japan” project. -Ambassador Yamada
In Edgerton, Wisconsin, I visited the childhood home of Sterling North. The Japanese anime classic inspired by his autobiographical tale has been loved for decades. It's remarkable how a boy's story continues to build lasting bridges between Japan and the US! -Ambassador Yamada
Congratulations to @KikkomanKitchen for opening its 3rd soy sauce plant in Wisconsin! Since establishing its 1st overseas plant in WI in 1973, Kikkoman has developed tight-knit bonds with the local community & connected with American families in the kitchen. -Ambassador Yamada

As a former participant in the Japan Exchange Teaching program, I know firsthand how these experiences build lasting relationships, strengthen cultural understanding, and deepen the important friendship between our two countries. We welcomed students from Gakushuin University to the Old Residence to learn about public diplomacy. We thank them for their continued interest in Japan-US relations and wish them all the best with their studies!

Today marks 25 years since the September 11 attacks. In honor of those impacted, the Embassy has lowered its flag to half-staff. Japan continues to stand with the United States as an ally and friend.

I had a fascinating visit to @FANUCAmerica, a robotics company, which currently accounts for majority of the industrial robot market share in the US. By combining AI & robotics, FANUC is exploring the future of physical AI and showcasing Japan-US collaboration. -Ambassador Yamada
I enjoyed an interesting tour of @NissanUSA Technical Center, where Japanese and American engineering and innovation come together to create advanced, reliable, and comfortable vehicles on roads around you. -Ambassador Yamada
It was inspiring to visit the @Toyota R&D Center in Ann Arbor, where engineers design and develop iconic vehicles like the Camry and Tacoma—vehicles that are proudly built in the USA and driven by people across the country! -Ambassador Yamada

The strength of the U.S.-Japan alliance is reflected in many ways. Japanese companies have invested billions in Texas creating thousands of jobs across the state.
