What ever happened to having a little class and just celebrating with your teammates? You don’t see this at the high school or professional level. Now it’s all about showing someone up, belittling others, flicking off a crowd. Why is this ok?
Oklahoma players immediately running over to talk shit to Texas fans is exactly why College Football is amazing

i have a friend with CF. when trikafta came out he went from thinking he had less than a decade to live to having a near-normal lifespan. he immediately went to law school. imagine spending your entire life thinking you’d be dead by 30 and overnight getting 40 extra years.
the breakthroughs in CF have been absolutely astonishing

🚨INCREDIBLE: During a multi-vehicle collision on the Route 90 bridge in Ocean City, Maryland, a 2-year-old girl was ejected from a pickup truck, falling nearly 30 feet into the Assawoman Bay below. Jonathan Bauer, who was driving across the bridge with his teenage daughter when the crash occurred, rushed over to inspect the wreckage. Looking down into the water, he saw the toddler floating face down and becoming unresponsive. Without hesitation, Bauer instructed his daughter to flag down first responders, removed his shoes, and leapt off the bridge into the bay. He swam to the little girl, lifted her onto his shoulder, and patted her back until she coughed up water and began breathing again. A passing pontoon boat quickly navigated toward them, pulling both Bauer and the toddler out of the water and transporting them to shore, where emergency personnel were waiting. The child was airlifted to a regional medical center for evaluation and released the following day in good condition. Bauer was later honored by local law enforcement and civic leaders for his decisive actions and selflessness.

There is a lot of talk about school closures and their impact. Reminds me of a massive school closure from almost 20 years ago… Let me tell you about it… In the 1972, during the AIM movement, a Native American school was started near Minneapolis South High called “Heart of the Earth.” It was well loved by the community. In the late 1990’s it turned into a charter school and Minneapolis Public Schools became its “authorizer” responsible for oversight and audit… Despite requirements to audit and look over finances, and despite some strange dealings of the executive director, MPS board consistently deferred their oversight responsibilities with Heart of the Earth, and in 2006 even unanimously reapproved the charter despite never once having conducted any glance into the operations of the school. Well, an audit was finally done, and in 2008 the director of Heart of the Earth was convicted of embezzling millions of dollars meant for Native American students and, after nearly 40 years, the school was forced to shut down. An entire community lost its school, one that had been hard fought to build, and it has never been the same. One person should not destroy a legacy school. It’s actually not possible. The gross mismanagement and lax oversight that befell HOTE was due to MPS and its board not prioritizing and fulfilling due diligence, and the entire community suffered for it. They turned a blind eye before the check came due, much like we’re seeing revisited this week. It’s an important cautionary tale for many reasons not the least of which is this: Of the then 7 member Minneapolis school board that unanimously turned a blind eye to agressive fraud- only one still holds elected office, Only one was Native American, Only one continues to preside over embezzlement and fraud. Do you know who that member is? Peggy Flanagan. “Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.”

I have found my people.
Someone on my street puts out light, nonsensical lawn signs. Replaces them every few weeks. I assume he’s mocking lawn sign people and if so, I need to meet him.

These folks don’t work and are quadrillionaires or what
As we’re entering American airspace, I wanna say a few things about this trip. 🇺🇸 This isn’t supposed to be World Cup trip 2.0. That trip is impossible to replicate. This is something different. We’re huge sports fans and have always talked about doing a trip around college sports. Also, on this trip we‘re not only going to football games. We want to experience all kinds of sports: basketball, volleyball, soccer of course, and many more. We also have some ideas for other stuff, like going camping in the Appalachians or visiting an Oktoberfest. We can’t wait to experience all these different sports, try new food and see new places.

He's such a bucket. What a get for Murray State
Murray State has landed PG Justin Frison - the highest rated recruit in program history. The Houston High School (TN) standout is ranked No. 126 nationally by 247Sports and is coming off an impressive summer with Team Thad on the EYBL circuit. Frison led the EYBL and averaged 7.7 assists per game. He also averaged 15.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He ultimately chose Murray State over high-major programs.
