Thinking about these statistics: "60% of Australians share 17% of our country's wealth. 10% of households hold 46% of our country's wealth." Why isn't this inequity at the centre of any policy settings for governments, and the central topic of discussion in the media? #auspol

I thought I'd finally found a peach iced tea without sickly stevia in it, but no. If you don't want to add more sugar, just leave out the stevia so it still tastes good. #T2 #Liptons

The insanity of our governments racing to expand AI data centres in Australia when none of the tech hierarchy denied these comments! Nothing gets in the way of a government and a bucket of money, how do we stop this? #auspol #saparli abc.net.au/news/2026-09-09/a…

Hey @DavidShoebridge Do you think NACC Commissioner Ben Gauntlett is not present because his NDIS Social and Community Participation funding has been cut? Because he, like us, is a cripple. And he, like us, is an NDIS participant. That would be amazing, wouldn't it? When a public servant can no longer go to work.

The way to get inflation down is NOT by increasing interest rates and making more people unemployed for the economy. If that's the only lever our government uses, the actual drivers of higher inflation are going to drive more into poverty. @AustralianLabor #ABCNews #RBA #auspol

Clearly the answer is to recognise the US and Israel started the illegal war with Iran, so it's their responsibility to withdraw, and the UN to negotiate with Iran a way forward. @RestIsPolitics

Are we going to be asked at any point if we support the energy and water hungry monsters of rapidly expanding data centres? For whose benefit, and at what cost to the environment and us? #auspol abc.net.au/news/2026-09-17/d…

A decent platform would ban these people for life. Hate speech and violence towards a minority group, egged on by bigot politicians like @AngusTaylorMP @SenatorCash and @PaulineHansonOz. If one trans or non binary person is harmed, they are responsible! #auspol

Exactly this, and bigots can get in the bin.
The push by @SenatorCash and @AngusTaylorMP and @PaulineHansonOz to define ‘Woman’ in the Sex Discrimination Act is a solution in search of a problem. @TheRoxyEpoch @JaneCaro @RonniSalt @noplaceforsheep @MFWitches @slpng_giants_oz The 2013 amendments to the SDA were necessary because Australians were no longer willing to tolerate discrimination against LGBTIQA+ people (when the SDA was enacted in 1984, four states still criminalised homosexual conduct) and because scientific knowledge has advanced and we now understand that there are not just two immutable sexes (there are also people who are intersex, trans and gender diverse). Because of strong bipartisan support for these reforms, the 2013 amendments were passed by Parliament without the need for a vote. There was no public outcry or even much media coverage of the changes, and certainly no culture wars. So why now, 13 years later, is there a push to revert to the language of the 1984 version of the SDA by defining who is a man and who is a woman?" The #LNP & @OneNationAus want to take women back to the way they were defined in law 40+ years ago. This would be a retrograde step for all women. Australian women are well served by the SDA. That Act protects all women from discrimination in a balanced and fair way, with appropriate exemptions from the operation of the Act for: •services the nature of which is such that they can be provided only to members of one sex; •religious bodies and faith based educational institutions; •sports where a competitor’s strength, stamina or physique is relevant; and •voluntary clubs and associations operating on a not-for-profit basis.  Thus, women-only community groups, men’s sheds, LGBTIQA+ organisations and the like can all lawfully restrict membership on the basis of sex, sexual orientation or gender identity. But if you are in the business of providing goods and services, the law says you must do so without discrimination, and that should not change. Let’s spend our time and effort addressing the very real problems that women are facing today; gender-based violence, pay inequity and access to reproductive healthcare and affordable housing, and not become distracted by fixing something that is not broken. google.com/url?sa=i&source=w…

A scarcity of specialists and unaffordable out of pocket costs are something Canberrans raise regularly with me. Too many people are missing out on the health care they need because they either can't afford it or because there isn't a specialist nearby or in the public system. The current review needs to lead to urgent reform to fix this worsening problem. smh.com.au/politics/federal/…

Please sign if you live in Queensland.
It beggars belief that this petition even needs to happen, but when Queensland votes for a bunch of far right wing Rainbowphobic face-eating leopards etc etc Our children matter, and so do the teachers and staff who look after them. The Queensland Government needs to lead from the top. When LGBTIQA+ teachers and staff feel safe to be themselves at work, that flows down into our schools. It helps create a place where students also feel safe to be themselves knowing they wont be bullied. Let’s be honest — how on earth can we expect children to feel safe and accepted if the adults around them don’t feel supported? We need to reinstate Pride in Diversity for staff and make sure students have the support they need too. This is about making sure everyone in our schools knows they belong. That starts with leadership from the top. parliament.qld.gov.au/Work-o…

Pauline Hanson's #OneNation now reaching a new low, blaming people with disabilities for living in social housing. You don't want to be an immigrant, poor, or with a disability and vote One Nation because they won't have your back. #auspol news.com.au/national/politic…

Centrelink has managed to create an imaginary asset amount for my husband who is on the aged pension, and his pension has just been reduced. I've tried ringing the helpline repeatedly, and they keep hanging up because they say they have too many calls! @tanya_plibersek

Who owns Australia, because it's not us.
Lidia Thorpe asks how on earth Israeli Ambassador Hillel Newman was allowed to “break all of the rules” & enter parliament’s private member dining room “without a member of parl.” as is strictly required? Wong says she’s “not aware” of it, but it’s up to him to explain. Ffs.🤯

The forces that can stop One Nation, on #BacktoBackBarries It's concerning that the "trunk" supporters, the multi-generational migrants like myself, are the core voter demographic, particularly in the regions. Is the main driver the wealth gap? #auspol youtu.be/PqGkSLsI3h4?si=OXKG…

Regions are more likely to have worse access to essential services. A greviance vote to One Nation is not going to help these issues, when regions depend on migration for service workers. Or when the party is owned by a billionaire. Vote for a local independent who works for you.
