There’s some irony in Rep. Ilhan Omar closing out her appearance at tonight’s I’m the Host Now event with Omar Fateh and Hasan Piker by declaring:
“That Minnesota doesn't send people who are corrupt and are interested in enriching themselves.”
Omar has faced repeated financial scrutiny over the years, including campaign-finance violations and questions surrounding her husband's businesses.
Her disclosures initially valued those businesses at up to $30 million, prompting scrutiny from House Oversight Chairman James Comer. In April, she amended her disclosure citing accounting errors.
And just this month, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro confirmed a new federal investigation into Omar's financial disclosures.
