The Hall of Fame remembers 1969 World Series champion Jerry Koosman, who passed away Sunday at the age of 83.
Koosman, a two-time All-Star, pitched 19 seasons for the Mets, Twins, White Sox and Phillies, and won the decisive Game 5 as New York captured its first Fall Classic.

This is a tough one to process. He had been in and out of the hospital during the summer, but it still hurts to realize that the winningest left handed pitcher in the history of the New York Mets, their greatest “money pitcher”, the man who won two games in the 1969 World Series including the clinching game five, and always the life of the party is gone. What an honor to have known him and called him a friend. He was as tough as they come. Rest easy, number 36. You will be missed, but lovingly remembered. RIP.

Staggering 74.5% of NFL players who died from 2008 to 2023 likely had CTE, study finds. Medical records of deceased players whose brains weren't studied gave researchers the data to make diagnoses. 3 of every 4 players developed CTE? Wow. latimes.com/sports/story/202…

40 years ago tonight, the @Mets won their second World Championship. You know how excruciating that post season was? They never played with a lead at home until Ray Knight’s home run in the 7th game of the World Series. Both wins at Shea against Houston in the NLCS were walk-offs, having not had an earlier lead, as was, of course, their win in World Series game 6 against the Red Sox. Remarkable. Happy Anniversary to the 1986 World Champions.

If @AbdulElSayed truly means what he says about treating the Jewish community as he would treat his own children, then he would immediately condemn this dangerous ad as outrageously antisemitic and demand that it be taken down.
If not, then he’s full of shit.
New low for normalized Jew-hate in the American Democratic Party. Very sad:
Painting your political opponents as puppets of Jews, as this El-Sayed ad does, and as crazed baby-killers and money-grubbing villains who are the root cause of every bad thing not just in the world, but in your life—from wars to the price of eggs to the reason you can’t have free healthcare—is not just low-grade Jew-hate. It’s pure Third Reich stuff, translated directly from the original German.
Do you remember when Jewish Democrats in Michigan explained that they would vote for El-Sayed despite his open disdain for Jews, since there are many other important issues they need him to fight for? That anything was worth it to “defeat MAGA”?
Well, here’s El-Sayed’s answer to them: Don’t worry, all those issues we agree on, like healthcare, inflation, and climate change, I’m going to make them about Jews too! I will tell the public that the Jews are the reason they can’t have those things.

Thanks so much to CBS for having me on this morning alongside @TheKellyOGrady to talk AI agents, bank accounts and how consumers can keep their money safe and secure.
Major U.S. financial institutions are facing “unvetted and unauthorized AI agent activity,” says @MadisonMills22, a senior AI reporter at Axios, calling it “a nightmare” for banks.
Mills and CBS News’ @thekellyogrady share what exactly is happening with the agents — and how to safeguard your own accounts.
