The first two purchases of the day have been made. Poncho. Socks. Casey stepped in a puddle and will now be wearing Iowa sport performance socks for the duration of the day.

The boys made it halfway to the tailgates and have taken shelter from the pouring rain in a parking garage. Could vibes be higher? Sure. But we’ll power through.

The boys are up early and ready to go in Iowa City. Melvin has broken out a 1/1 Kenosha, Wisconsin chain with his overalls. He is worried he didn’t plan for the weather. I agree with him.

I love Malasek, but I should have known he’s too handsome to stand next to in photos.

The Rusty Toolbox was the coolest sporting event I’ve ever been to and I’m not exaggerating at all.

I volunteered to help film Melvin tonight and the game hasn’t started and he’s found a jersey and made himself an honorary captain. It’s going to be a long night I fear.

It’s absolutely hysterical to me that there’s a world we exist in where these kids sign up to be managers for the Wisconsin football team, and then all the sudden, they’re in Iowa City getting coached by Melvin Gordon in a Badger hat in a flag football rivalry game. College is amazing.

We are getting ready for The Rusty Toolbox. Every year, the Wisconsin and Iowa managers play what they described as a “high contact” flag football game. There’s a drone flyover, national anthem, and full playbooks. There’s JUICE in here already!

Pretty unreal day with the Hawkeyes. Gearing up for Rusty Toolbox tonight and an early kick tomorrow. It feels like such a Big Ten weekend in Iowa City, I love it.
