There’s a difference between having a hit record and having a song become part of people’s traditions. Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” is practically synonymous with Halloween, and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has become a Christmas standard. That kind of cultural longevity is something most artists can only dream of.

GOLDEN HOURS is @reginevalcasid at her finest. Quite possibly the greatest album!
Grabe, I am honestly blown away by how beautiful this album is. Every track hits differently. Isang obra maestra na deserves to be recognized as one of the finest Filipino albums of this century.

I'm convinced that being underestimated is a gift. There's no pressure. No spotlight. Nobody waiting for you to fail. You get to work in the dark. Stacking wins while everyone looks the other way. Let them sleep on you. They'll be the first ones to call you lucky when it works.

Be very careful with the idea that everyone is replaceable. There are people you may never meet twice in your entire life.

Why do naturally gifted people sometimes prefer to stay behind the scenes? Is it introversion, perfectionism, or fear of judgment?

I've been revising Michael Jackson's catalogue from start to finish & wow; Dangerous just might be my new favorite album from him taking Bad's place. This relisten, the beats are crazy af & still so fresh whew- King of Pop for a mf reason

Y'all want artists to give you great music, great looks and great shows, then you get on these apps and you're insufferable. Criticizing them at every turn like they aren't human. Then you wonder why people walk away from music completely, or why they pivot to other fields.
In the music business, one important skill you need to develop & deploy to avoid wasting time with the wrong people, is discernment.
It is best to spot & establish relationships with people based on their vision, conviction & determination, rather than just their talent.

The music business is a very cutthroat industry that requires a crazy amount of resilience. Most keyboard warriors who sit and tell artists what to do all day wouldn’t even survive a day doing this work.

Remembering the legendary Quincy Jones, who passed away 2 years ago today. ❤️🕊️

I regret to inform you that nobody cares. When you’re winning, nobody cares. When you’re losing, nobody cares. Stop fearing the judgement of people who were never even thinking about you. Nobody is thinking about you. They’re too busy thinking about themselves. Go do the thing.
