🚨 JUST NOW 🚨 NexusMods removed the Gears of War: E-Day mod that turns Mags Carter into a droid without a warning. It replaced nearly 3,000 of her voice lines with beeps, whistles, and robotic noises. They called it “discrimination.” No reason was given for the explanation. They were taken down and went silent. The mod is still available on AyakaMods. Art Deco didn't die from being exhausted, it got blacklisted. Its three main phases - Zigzag, PWA / Stripped Classical, & Streamline - weren't exactly sequential, they overlapped all throughout the 30s. But what happened after 1929 wasn't just that zig zag Deco became too expensive, it was evolving from the 'Return to Order' (WW1) beginnings towards a more robust machine age adapted classicism. Earlier funding collapsed from private elites to the state, and a more civic form emerged - Stripped Classical/Classical Moderne. It was transatlantic, global. The American WPA, PWA, democracies and authoritarian regimes across the West all embraced it because the goal was the same: instill optimism, civic-mindedness, and resilience. Put your skilled artists & artisans to work. It was seen as worthy recieving state funding for its public face - blending both classical & modern, a forward facing embrace between design, industry & craft. That more colorful zig zag form was made logistically difficult to revive after 29, then that difficulty was made permanent. Deco needed a 50-year Beaux-Arts ecosystem - terracotta kilns like Gladding McBean and Atlantic Terra Cotta, plasterers, metal foundries, carvers, mosaicists - & that ecosystem took two hits. The 29 crash bankrupted the firms & dissolved the apprenticeship pipeline, then the war shifted what was left to war industries. By 1948 a fully crafted lobby was hard to build like 1926 even if you wanted to. Hard isnt impossible. With a regular cycle craft revives with demand, but revival was blocked. Tax codes, FAR, federal budgets, and curtain-wall specs all rewarded flat, uncrafted surfaces, so there wasnt much incentive to maintain the ateliers. The firmest lockout was ideological. To make High Modernism the post-war approved standard, its promoters had to discredit what came before. Politically, Stripped Classicism was rebranded as "fascistic" because Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin had used identical forms. Culturally Deco, especially Streamline, was the 1930s World's Fair spirit: mass-produced household objects made beautiful, futuristic, optimistic, commercial & everyday. High Modernism was austere, 'European' & highbrow, it treated that populist optimism as kitsch. That created a self-fulfilling loop: disincentivize the decorative, let craft firms die, then accuse dead craft as proof decorative design is infeasible. Hence the narrative that Deco simply "fell from public taste" is fake. It was slowed by the war, logistically hollowed out by '48, then ideologically blacklisted afterwards - making way for [indirect] tacit state support through modernist capture this time with the opposite design ethos: (mid century)"modernism". The people never chose the glass modernist box over Deco. The people were simply never asked.

Simply moderne. "Jazz" is hindsight & it effectively ends with the 1929 crash. Classical Moderne thrives afterwards side by side with Streamline Moderne - the whole thing isnt stopped until late 1940s.

I'd say Vrains gets the "most realistic YGO series" award due to trading magic for tech... But calling ANY of these series realistic is a Mr. Fantastic level stretch.

🚨#BREAKING: The sister of the man filming himself beating women in Charlotte NC just went public. Her message is HORRIFYING. Her own family has BEGGED to keep him locked up for NEARLY 10 YEARS. They even PERSONALLY CONTACTED THE JUDGES TO ASK HIM NOT TO BE RELEASED. He was anyway. The family said they have called everyone they could for nearly a decade including his therapist, attorneys, probation officers AND the judges saying: "Please help us. How can we get my brother in an institution? How can we get him medicated? And it leads us back to the same all the time... he's released." And now his sister is TERRIFIED he walks again. ...and she should be. Because out of Diquan Hunt's criminal cases, the overwhelming majority were DISMISSED ENTIRELY. In fact, out of the 13 criminal cases that have been brought against Diquan, 11 of them have been DISMISSED ENTIRELY. Yes, you read that right. At least 8 former assault, domestic violence, and even discharging a firearm cases were ALL DISMISSED. WE DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!

If only we could get the British to appreciate biscuits and gravy like this! Even comparing American biscuits to Yorkshire pudding doesn't help! 😮‍💨
USA. A breakfast counter. The waitress recommended the biscuits and gravy, and when the plate arrived, I thought something had gone wrong in the kitchen. I say this with shame. The dish looked like a construction site after rain. Pale mounds. Gray ladle-fall. Speckles I could not identify. In my land, the eye eats first. A meal is arranged like a garden. This meal was arranged like weather. "Is it… finished?" I asked, carefully. "Honey, that's what it looks like." The man beside me was already eating his. He did not look up. "Just try it." I am a man who has charged hillsides at dawn. I raised the fork. I tried it. I must now formally apologize to the biscuits, the gravy, the waitress, the kitchen, and the entire breakfast tradition of the American South. It was magnificent. Warm. Peppered. The biscuit drank the gravy the way a field drinks rain — THAT is why it is shaped like that, you fool — and every mound I had insulted was a soft fold of comfort that my homeland, in eight hundred years, never once thought to invent. "Well?" the waitress asked. "I judged it," I confessed. "By its appearance. I am ashamed." "Everybody does, hon." Everybody does. A national dish that forgives you for doubting it. It expects the doubt. It waits for you on the other side of it. Do not judge the gravy by its face. Judge yourself, for hesitating. I order it every Saturday now. I no longer see the construction site. I see only the garden. It was a garden the whole time. The eye must be trained.

I have now read this highlighted sentence seventeen times because I assumed I wan't actually reading what was written. Surely my eyes didn't actually read this. Maybe someone accidentally pasted in dialogue from "The Onion." back when it was funny. But no. She is saying that she delayed reporting a rape because she agreed with the accused, politically. This is one of those moments where, if your IQ is over 85, your brain quietly excuses itself from the room. We have apparently reached a point where politics has become the emotional-support animal for basic human survival instincts. "Yes, this person committed one of the worst crimes imaginable against me, but we both liked the same tax policy. Awkward." If your political identity has become so central that it can outweigh reporting your own rape, congratulations: you hve joined a cult. Cults are famous for making people subordinate reality, morality, and self-preservation to the interests of the group. I hate cults. I hate them a lot. They don't ask you to ignore facts all at once: they ask for one tiny compromise after another until one day you discover you're explaining away things that should be absolutely indefensible. What's sad isnt just that people end up there. It's that many of them don't even realize it. They sincerely believe they're making a principled decision when, from the outside, everyone else is wondering why the obvious isn't obvious anymore. At least religious cults usually promise enlightenment, salvation, eternal life, or an alien spaceship hiding behind a comet. Political cults dont even offer that. They ask you to sacrifice your judgment, your relationships, sometimes even your own well-being in exchange for cable-news talking points, in favor of a politician who will sell you out for a pack of gum. That's a spectacularly bad trade. At some point, "my team" has to lose to "the person who committed a violent felony against me." That's not supposed to be a close game.

Construisez.

I still loved America when Joe Biden was president. I disagreed strongly with him. I opposed almost all of his policies. I thought most of the things his administration did were damaging to the country. But here's the thing: I never stopped loving America. You see, America is bigger than her government. America is not Joe Biden. America is not Donald Trump. America is not Congress. America is not the bureaucracy. Governments come and go. Administrations rise and fall. Politicians make mistakes, abuse power, pass bad laws, and sometimes do genuinely terrible things. But America is bigger than any of that. It’s the culture, the people, the communities, the traditions, the freedoms, the churches, the charities, the families, the businesses, the neighbors who help each other when disaster strikes. It’s the idea that free people can govern themselves and build something better. (And disagree while trying) A president can damage the government. A Congress can damage institutions. Neither Biden nor Trump can destroy the spirit of America unless we decide to surrender it ourselves. If your love of your country depends entirely on who occupies the White House, then what you love isn’t really your country. It’s a political administration. I loved America under Biden. I love America under Trump. I’ll still love America long after both of them are gone.
De Niro: I hate to say it, but loving our country is starting to sound like an abused spouse saying they love their abuser. I can’t love a country that starts stupid and inhumane wars, killing thousands of innocents and indirectly causing the deaths and suffering of millions more. I can’t love a country that takes healthcare away from millions of people and uses that money to enrich their pals in the Trump-Epstein class. I can’t love a country that sends out masked militias to shoot citizens in the streets, torture our neighbors, and separate families. I can’t love a country that’s led by a racist, misogynist, xenophobic tyrant. And let me just say it: I can’t love a country that’s led by Donald Trump and his sycophant Congress.

Bluntly, Scott, you’re out of your league. You seem utterly incapable of comprehending even the very clearly stated point, much less countering it. The only purpose it serves to deny that women are female is to pander to men who wish that they were female too. Unfortunately for all of us, we do not live in a world where we get to decide everything about ourselves. I realize that this is an alien concept for a man who is as privileged as any human being can possibly be without being a celebrity or a millionaire, simply by virtue of his sex and nationality, but there are many people in this world who wish that they were somehow different. Wisdom and personal character come from recognizing what you can’t change and learning to make the best of it. Throwing a temper tantrum, on the other hand, and demanding that the entire world play along as you go through life pretending that you are as you wish you could be is not only insanity, but deeply stunting when it comes to personal growth and becoming a worthwhile human being. Insisting on your right to force others to join you in fantasy land, and punishing anyone who dares to speak the objective, verifiable truth that you are desperately trying to deny – I hate to use a cliché, but delusional narcissism really is the only word that applies. To insist that your right to fantasize outweighs other people’s right to recognize the reality that is staring them in the face is lunacy, and if you weren’t so politically invested in this concept, you would recognize that. And you’re not even personally invested here. You’re insisting that the rights of other men to pretend to be women outweigh the rights of women to be safe and have privacy and to even be recognized for the biological reality that we live. That’s psychotic. Your politics have caused you to lose your grip on the true nature of existence, and my guy, that should scare the crap out of you. You’re sitting here arguing with me that the cause of women’s oppression is being recognized as female, but that being female has nothing to do with that oppression. Can you not see how crazy that is?

Cave Catgirl simple Nyanderthal. Need smart tribe explain this thing. Elon sell electric cars. Elon sell satellite internet. Elon launch rockets. Elon make things people want buy. (Including governments!) Somehow this make Cave Catgirl poorer? Please explain slowly. Use small words. If Elon become rich by taking Cave Catgirl mammoth, Cave Catgirl understand. If Elon become rich by stealing Cave Catgirl hut, Cave Catgirl understand. If Elon become rich by government pointing spear and taking Cave Catgirl shiny rocks, Cave Catgirl understand. But that not argument being made. Argument seem be: "Man build companies. People buy products. Investors think companies valuable. Therefore Cave Catgirl poorer." In fact, GOVERNMENTS do these things. Government take mammoth, because they say it endangered. Government take hut if no pay property tax. Government take spear, say stick dangerous. Say only special government police should have stick. Please explain why Nyanderthal should be angry at Elon, and not Government? Cave Catgirl no follow. Did Tesla make Cave Catgirl poorer? No. Did Starlink make Cave Catgirl poorer? No. Did SpaceX make Cave Catgirl poorer? No. In fact, SpaceX doing things NASA should have figured out years earlier while tribe paying Russians to take astronauts to space. That seem opposite of poorer. Starlink do more to give remote people internet than all of Government. This also seem like good thing. Cave Catgirl notice weird thing. When local bakery become successful, tribe clap. When plumber become successful, tribe clap. When businessman become successful, tribe suddenly act like success itself crime. Very strange. Now if you want argue government favoritism, subsidies, regulatory capture, or cronyism? Good discussion. Cave Catgirl listen. Simply pointing at giant number and shouting: "LOOK! HE HAVE MORE SHINY ROCKS THAN ME!" This not actually argument. It envy. Wise holy man on cross say this is sin. Before demanding wealth tax, first explain how man selling products people willingly buy somehow making Cave Catgirl poorer. Because Cave Catgirl just humble Nyanderthal. Cave Catgirl not seeing connection.
Elon Musk just became the world's first trillionaire. The typical American household would have to work more than 11 MILLION years to make Elon Musk's level of wealth. We need a wealth tax.

USA. I ordered a large soda. In Japan, large means slightly larger. A small drink becomes a medium drink. A medium drink becomes a large drink. Everyone understands the agreement. But in America, large means the conversation has left the restaurant. The cashier handed me the cup. I looked at it. It looked back. This was not a drink. This was a private reservoir with a lid. I held it with both hands, because one hand felt disrespectful. The ice moved inside like a small glacier. The straw stood there with the confidence of a flag planted on new land. The cashier smiled like this was normal. So I accepted it. In America, a large drink is not a beverage. It is infrastructure. I took one sip. Nothing changed. I took another sip. Still full. I took a serious sip, the kind of sip a man takes when he has decided to participate in his own future. The level did not move. At that point, I stopped drinking and began managing it. I checked the weight. I listened to the ice. I adjusted the straw angle. I monitored condensation on the cup wall. I was no longer a customer. I was the Department of Soda. A child walked past holding the same size cup with one hand. One hand. No fear. No hesitation. No respect for the burden. I understood. He was born into the system. I carried mine outside like a sacred responsibility. The sun was hot. The cup was cold. I was small. The soda was still winning. By the time I reached the parking lot, I had accepted the truth. I did not order a drink. I was appointed temporary governor of a liquid province. I did not finish it. It finished me.

Yes, the Left are retarded and demonic. This is known. Therefore, I ask why the Right aren't having their own galas at art museums, celebrations of beauty and creativity. Why have we abandoned the hill of culture to demonspawn without a fight? Why do we allow our pundits to say say "art is stupid" rather than "those people are stupid, clearly the bar of competition is pathetically low, let's make our own art and do it better"?
Celebs are so damn retarded. Why do people gush over this crap?
