Extremely honored to represent The University of Pittsburgh with this award!
Starting out as a walk-on is where some journeys begin, as did mine. But it’s the dedication, sacrifice, and belief in yourself that determine how far you go, both in football and in life! The sky’s the limit!
I love Pitt Football!!!! @Pitt_FB @BurlsworthTrust
🏆 Burlsworth Trophy Nominee… @carsonkent86 🏆
The Burlsworth is presented to the most outstanding player in college football who began his career as a walk-on.
Hail to Pitt!! Love you Panthers Nation!!
Congratulations to @JustinSchmidt4 from the University of Pittsburgh on being voted this week’s Special Teams U Long Snapper of the Week!
Justin received the most votes across Instagram and X! Thank you to everyone who nominated an athlete, shared the polls, and took the time to vote.
We want to continue recognizing long snappers across the country who are putting in the work and performing at a high level every week.
Here’s how it works:
Thursday–Saturday: Submit your nominations.
Sunday: Voting opens on Instagram and X.
Monday: Winner announced.
Know a long snapper who deserves recognition? Make sure you’re submitting their name each week. Whether they’re making game-changing plays or consistently doing their job at a high level, we want to recognize them.
Keep nominating. Keep voting. Keep giving these athletes the recognition they’ve earned.
Chase Perfection. Go Unnoticed.
