Been locked in all weekend, working on my version of a game I played in high school. I've added dozens of new features to the 2.5-K branch of the game, including an Imperial Battleship feature. This was inspired somewhat by the Clone Wars. Imagine your world has been taken by the Separatists Alliance, and you are forced into bondage. One day, you look up in the sky, and you see a Venator Class star ship. You /know/ the Jedi typically travel aboard those. And then, the invasion starts. While your own forces were not enough to hold off the Separatists, the Jedi and their Clones arrive and begin turning the tide almost immediately. The Battleship is meant to be a game changer in warfare, just as the Jedi cruisers were. But the Battleship is not cheap. With a construction cost of 11 MILLION credits and 100 turns, you will NOT see a lot of these early on. You will also have to maintain it, repair it after battles. You can also upgrade its defenses and attack power. And you only get one. I've added an achievement system to the game, that will track dozens of progression points in the game. I've also overhauled the banking system. Now, all players share the same loan pool. You can still take a loan in the same way previous. Wealthy players can invest their credits into the bank, which will increase the amount available for loan. The benefit, is that those players who invest, will also get dividends when loans/interest is paid back. Players can also take out bonds, and the longer then bond is for, the better the payout. 100 turns may seem like a long time, but with a 45% return rate, it's worth it. Players can also invest in each other, with their own preset details. Other players can either accept or decline. But don't default! Penalties start at 30%, and go up 1% every 10 turns that you are late. There are so many other things I've added, to the point that this is no longer the same game I played as a teenager, and I love that. I'm so excited by this project, and I can't wait to share it.
