I realise these videos are aimed at the public sector and MPs, but for what it's worth: The specific criticism is about data portability. The charge is that while Palantir will allow a customer to take their data and “walk away”, that data is in a Palantir format, really only suited to Palantir systems and difficult for other systems to interpret. I'm very clear that this is a comment on the industry and not the journalist. I have no idea about the merits or not of his investigation because what most people don't seem to realise is that @timeshighered never published it. It may be a first to be nominated for a prize for a story that never ran. But the issue I'm raising is the optics of a ballroom full of pissed-up journalists celebrating the gotcha of a man who took his own life.
Not a single news outlet has reviewed its coverage of Jason Arday, for accuracy or proportionality. Zero attempt has been made to conduct any inquiry into the media’s role in his death. Instead, the industry has moved into self-congratulatory mode. This isn’t just tone deaf, it betrays a systemic failure

In 2003, I bought the Batman Returns Batmobile featuring Michael Keaton, Michelle Pfeiffer, Danny DeVito.
I paid $140,000.
Three years later, someone offered me $350,000. I sold it.
It just went to auction last week. Sold for $7 million.
That’s a 19% compounded return!!!
I had the asset. If I just held the asset, I would’ve been very well rewarded.
The lesson isn’t about Batmobiles. It’s about holding great assets and getting out of your own way.

How on earth is Jonathan Freedland the appropriate guest for this? It's just basic professional journalism to understand he's a problematic interviewee. Freedland has frequently demonstrated that he's an extremist and yet is treated by the BBC as a "sensible" voice. It's absurd.

Striking how fast Reform went from free-press defenders to calling for the arrest of journalists who investigate it.
Its move to the populist-authoritarian model is unlikely to do much for its poll rating.
STATEMENT:
Reform UK has reported ITV, its board, and its undercover reporters to the police.
Some of the crimes carry up to 10 years in prison.
They forged a passport.
They directly interfered in elections and almost certainly altered the results. Being paid to “canvass” for Reform in crucial wards we lost by a few dozen votes.
They lied to a veteran about their service and left him “violated”.
This is unprecedented.
The police are now involved.
Scrutiny of political parties is one thing.
But anyone breaking the law to try and ruin the lives of Reform’s staff, members or volunteers will be reported to the police and pursued relentlessly in the courts.
