Was catching up with a teacher friend yesterday who had to vent about PBIS. She teaches 5th grade and about a week ago, she asked the class to come down to the carpet for a lesson. She has a student with a behavior IEP that basically says he won’t have to change seats ever throughout the year because new seats can be triggering to him (along with a whole host of other things which basically equates to he doesn’t have to do anything he doesn’t want to do because it could be triggering)… this also applies to coming down to the carpet. But ultimately this story isn’t about him. The other kids have noticed that this student doesn’t have to follow the same rules and directions, and one student decided he didn’t want to come down to the carpet for the lesson. He wanted to stay back at his seat to goof off with his friend with the IEP. When my friend told him he needed to, he said, ā€œNo it’s freakin’ stupid to have to sit on the carpet.ā€ Mind you the rest of the class had already settled in. My friend repeated, ā€œYou need to come over here for the lesson. Please take a seat on the carpet with us.ā€ His response was, ā€œNo, I don’t want to it’s freakin’ stupid!ā€ So basically it was a stand off until the teacher said, ā€œSo you’re already getting a phone call home about this, and it’s up to you on if I can say that you pulled it together and came down to the carpet.ā€ He then complied, stomped over, and sat carpet adjacent. She asked him to please move to the carpet where the other kids were sitting. He said, ā€œI’m on CARPET!ā€ How does this relate to PBIS? Well because her district has adopted the ā€œnewā€ PBIS program there are restrictions on consequences. Teachers are not allowed to take recess, have a student walk a lap at recess, have the student owe a buck (their whole school PBIS reward system), but the biggest kicker is that teachers can’t have their own in class reward/consequence system. So effectively the biggest consequence a kid could receive for blatant disrespect in that situation is to fill out a ā€œThink Sheetā€ (but not during recess) and get a phone call home. When my friend called home, the Mom was apologetic but ultimately said she was at her wits end. She doesn’t know what to do either. Quote from Mom, ā€œI try to get him to do things and he argues with me in the same way! I don’t know what to do about it!ā€ When districts prevent a teacher from providing a meaningful consequence in the moment, and parents don’t know how to parent, they are basically tying a teachers hands behind their back and telling them to swim. Her principal’s advice after hearing about the situation… ā€œDid you reward the students who did come down to the carpet, with a buck?ā€ I couldn’t roll my eyes hard enough.

Please take a moment to read. Sometime soon I'll be releasing a report detailing the medical records from a detransitioner, showing direct evidence of the healthcare fraud scheme the DOJ has been investigating. Records like this have never been made public. This is a continuation of the work I did as a co-author of the HHS report Wolves in White Coats, where we documented the mountain of publicly available evidence demonstrating this proxy diagnosis fraud scheme in gender clinics across the country. This report will show the most direct evidence: actual medical records. Because these medical records provide such clear evidence of criminality, establishment forces have done everything in their power to prevent Trump's DOJ from obtaining them. Without these medical records, gender doctors remain effectively immune from serious consequence (i.e. prison) I believe that if the public can see the records themselves, that protection becomes much more difficult to defend. The evidence is simply too shocking, the criminality too flagrant, the harm truly incalculable. Even though Trump's DOJ has secured major victories - six civil settlements with major children’s hospitals - this punishment ultimately does not fit the crime. This goal of this report is to help ensure that one day it does. This will be the first in what I plan to be a series of reports, to be released on X, outlining detransitioner records from multiple clinics across the country, all employing the same fraud scheme against public and private insurers.

🚨 BREAKING: TEXAS JUST TOOK THE H-1B FIGHT TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL. Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller announced that businesses employing H-1B visa workers will no longer qualify for certain taxpayer-funded state grants. Read that again. Companies can choose to hire H-1B workers. But Texas taxpayers shouldn’t have to subsidize that decision. And Miller isn’t stopping there. He’s challenging Governor Greg Abbott and other state officials to adopt similar restrictions across their agencies. This could go far beyond agriculture. Here’s the question every governor should answer: Why are American taxpayers subsidizing companies that hire foreign workers while qualified Americans struggle to find jobs? Should all 50 states follow Texas? texasagriculture.gov/News-Ev…

@LCPSOfficial board seems shocked that staff would recommend closing schools to tighten the budget. They forced this by approving an unnecessary resource hub, and have nobody to blame but themselves.

LCPS's job is to educate kids, not to provide free child care. Before the board takes a single western school off the map, it should explain why classrooms are on the chopping block while new non-instructional programs are on the wish list.

Earlier today, the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero in Manhattan was defaced with graffiti. I wear on my wrist the names of over a hundred friends and colleagues who lost their lives in the attacks twenty five years ago. 1/2

If we close the schools, we have more time for social services. -LCPS, probably
Replying to @LoudounMoms
Saying this again: Loudoun County has plenty of social services to help students & families get the help needed. We DO NOT need the schools to do this as well. The school board’s job is not in the social services arena.

Amy Riccardi is upset the board wasn’t notified about a hiring freeze. Yet she approved a social services hub with dollar amounts unknown. Taxpayers are upset with the board for their fiscal irresponsibility.

This is why there are social services. See a student walking barefoot, contact the Parent Liaison to make sure that kid gets what he need from social services. AND LCPS already partners will all of the various social services orgs, so why are now taxpayers on the hook for this? Just because we are the wealthiest county in the country doesn't mean a school system should be acting as a social services hub. Not enough social services? Go to the BOS and ask for more. A socialist hub run by the schools is not the answer. Sneakers and shirts will lead to tremendous socialist scope creep, hell it's already created. aguyonx.com/investigations/v…

Exactly right. $7.1M over 5 years, 8 new staff, and a building with no price tag, approved 8-0-1 on Oct. 13. Two weeks later: hiring pause and western Loudoun schools on the table. LCPS IS COOKED.

Taxpayers were told the revenue generated from the 250 data centers was enough to fund the Loudoun county budget. Given there has been zero tax advantage to homeowners, one has to ask, where's the cash?
One week LCPS has money for a new social services hub and the next week it's time to close some schools bc budget. šŸ‘‰ What is your mission, school board?

How does LCPS approve $7.1M and 8 new positions for a resource hub, with the building cost still unknown, then two weeks later announce a hiring pause and put western Loudoun schools on the chopping block?

Just to be clear, if you are an HR representative or a manager who is hiring H-1B workers or offshoring American jobs to India you are a filthy traitor.

If Microsoft is offering buyouts and early retirement to 60,000 employees, then I guess they won't need any H-1B visas this year or next year? @StephenM can you let us know if Microsoft is cancelling all of their H-1B visa applications?

Imagine having a $2.6 billion school district budget, mounting financial pressures, staffing concerns, and legitimate questions about student safety and this is what the School Board is spending its time debating. The problem isn’t the pronouns. It’s the priorities. 🤔🤔🤔

And this my friends, is why parents no longer have any faith in public schools and I have to think the systems just keep reinforcing that distrust.
šŸ‘‰Tune in tomorrow to the @LCPSOfficial board as it debates the proper use of possessive pronouns in an amendment to a purchasing policy 🤔🤔🤔

Organizations that ā€œneedā€ taxpayer dollars to function should be ineligible to hire non-citizens. If Americans have to go to work everyday to subsidize your university, hospital or businesses, you should be limited to hiring the people who are keeping your institution alive.
