Long Island doesn’t need more partisans. It needs more accountability. I’ll be calling out hypocrisy, incompetence, and cowardice — on both sides.

Update to this: 01 Palumbo LOSS 07 Martins Open seat R HOLD by Blumencranz 17 Chan LOSS 38 Weber LOSS 39 Rolison LOSS 43 Ashby leads by 228 (erroneously listed as 44th earlier) Dems also flipped SD-44 defeating Jim Tedisco
There are 6 NYS senate seats where the R won by 55% or less in 2024. 5 seek re-election 01 Palumbo 52.9% 07 Martins 55.1% (open seat) 17 Chan 54.7% 38 Weber 52.4% 39 Rolison 50.7% 44 Ashby 54.6% Dems would only need to flip one for a supermajority.

“The way we fight here in New York is wholly inadequate. The same press conferences on the same steps, complaining about the same things, won’t produce a different result.” They should get rid of all the creepy weird AI videos too.
A lot to think about after a hard night across New York. First, gratitude to everyone who stepped forward to run, volunteer, knock on doors, and make the case for a different direction. And to the families who carry more of that weight than most people ever see. But gratitude has to come with some honest reflection. Working families are struggling with utility bills, taxes, and the feeling that they’re doing everything right and still falling behind. Too many New Yorkers are questioning whether they can afford a future here. Kathy Hochul and state government haven’t met that reality. But we have to ask ourselves why we haven’t convinced more people that we can. I’ve got a few ideas. The way we fight here in New York is wholly inadequate. The same press conferences on the same steps, complaining about the same things, won’t produce a different result. We need to listen more closely, reach beyond the people who already agree with us, and give New Yorkers something clear and credible to believe in. That takes showing up, doing the work, and staying engaged. It requires we hold ourselves accountable and do the work the people expect. Rebuilding will take honest conversations and a willingness to change how we do things. New York is worth that effort. The people paying the bills deserve it.

I’m shocked that a bunch of unemployable idiots hanging out in the Bellmore LIRR parking lot weren’t able to push Blakeman over the finish line

Nassau County Supervisor races: None of these Dem early vote leads are safe. Saladino is a lock. DeSena looks fine. Ferretti has to make up a lot of ground but its possible.

Insane early vote totals for Assemblyman Noah Burroughs of the Village of Hempstead. This bodes extremely well for Laura Gillen and Hempstead Supervisor candidate Joe Scianablo.

Matches the NBC numbers, but the BOE website stupidly puts it as 100%. Expect Blakeman to pick up the pace when the in-person gets counted.
